Journal ArticleDOI

Optimizing the extraction process of natural antioxidants from chardonnay grape marc using microwave-assisted extraction.

TL;DR: It was observed that the degradation temperature of the extract was above the temperature commonly used for the manufacture of protein films by thermo-mechanical processes, highlighting the potential use of this extract as a bioactive additive in protein film forming formulations for food and pharmaceutical applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of cross-linking in nanostructure and physicochemical properties of fish gelatins for bio-applications

TL;DR: Maillard reaction improves the barrier properties of fish gelatin films, providing an excellent protection against UV light and decreasing solubility due to the cross-linking induced by heating and lactose addition.
Journal ArticleDOI

Acceptor‐Substituted S,N‐Heteropentacenes of Different Conjugation Length: Structure–Property Relationships and Solar Cell Performance

TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis, optoelectronic, and photovoltaic properties of novel acceptor-donor-acceptor (A-D-A) based π-conjugated functional molecules 1-3, comprising a planar S,N-heteropentacene as central donor substituted with various terminal acceptor units, such as 1,1-dicyanovinylene (DCV) and 1-(1,1)-dicyahex-2-ene (DCC), are reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Linear and star-shaped naphthalimide-fused pyrazinacenes

TL;DR: A novel naphthalimide derivative endowed with a diketone functionality has been synthesized and used to develop a family of highly symmetric, flat, n-type semiconducting naphhalimide-based pyrazinacenes.
