2015/16 seasonal vaccine effectiveness against hospitalisation with influenza A(H1N1) pdm09 and B among elderly people in Europe: results from the I-MOVE plus project
Marc Rondy,Amparo Larrauri,Itziar Casado,V. Alfonsi,Daniela Pitigoi,Odile Launay,R. K. Journal ArticleDOI
Low and decreasing vaccine effectiveness against influenza A(H3) in 2011/12 among vaccination target groups in Europe: results from the I-MOVE multicentre case–control study
Esther Kissling,Marta Valenciano,Amparo Larrauri,Beatrix Oroszi,Jean-Marie Cohen,Baltazar Nunes,Daniela Pitigoi,Caterina Rizzo,J. Rebolledo,Iwona Paradowska-Stankiewicz,Silvia Jiménez-Jorge,Judith Krisztina Horváth,Isabelle Daviaud,Raquel Guiomar,Gheorghe Necula,A. Bella,Joan O'Donnell,M. Głuchowska,Bruno Christian Ciancio,Angus Nicoll,Alain Moren +20 more
TL;DR: The results suggested a low adjusted IVE in 2011/12, which could be due to virus changes through the season or waning immunity, and seasonal influenza vaccines should be improved to achieve acceptable levels of protection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Estimates of Pandemic Influenza Vaccine Effectiveness in Europe, 2009–2010: Results of Influenza Monitoring Vaccine Effectiveness in Europe (I-MOVE) Multicentre Case-Control Study
Marta Valenciano,Esther Kissling,Jean-Marie Cohen,Beatrix Oroszi,Anne-Sophie Barret,Caterina Rizzo,Baltazar Nunes,Daniela Pitigoi,Amparro Larrauri Cámara,Anne Mosnier,Judith Krisztina Horváth,Joan O'Donnell,Antonino Bella,Raquel Guiomar,Emilia Lupulescu,Camelia Savulescu,Bruno Christian Ciancio,Piotr Kramarz,Alain Moren +18 more
TL;DR: Results from a European multicentre case-control study reported by Marta Valenciano and colleagues suggest good protection by the pandemic monovalent H 1N1 vaccine against pH1N1 and no effect of the 2009–2010 seasonal influenza vaccine on H1n1.
Journal ArticleDOI
Vaccine effects and impact of vaccination programmes in post-licensure studies
TL;DR: From the public health evaluation perspective the effects of vaccine-related exposures are reviewed, the methods used to measure them and their assumptions are described, to help decision-makers clarify which type of study is needed and how to interpret the results.
Journal ArticleDOI
I-MOVE Multi-Centre Case Control Study 2010-11: Overall and Stratified Estimates of Influenza Vaccine Effectiveness in Europe
Esther Kissling,Marta Valenciano,J.-M. Cohen,Beatrix Oroszi,Anne Sophie Barret,Caterina Rizzo,Paweł Stefanoff,Baltazar Nunes,Daniela Pitigoi,Amparo Larrauri,Isabelle Daviaud,Judit Krisztina Horváth,Joan O'Donnell,Thomas Seyler,Iwona Paradowska-Stankiewicz,Pedro Pechirra,Alina Elena Ivanciuc,Silvia Jiménez-Jorge,Camelia Savulescu,Bruno Christian Ciancio,Alain Moren +20 more
TL;DR: I-MOVE shows how a network can provide precise summary VE measures across Europe, and moderate protection from 2010-11 trivalent influenza vaccines against medically-attended ILI laboratory-confirmed as influenza across Europe is suggested.
