Effects of childhood trauma on HPA-axis reactivity in women free of lifetime psychopathology
Ellen R. Klaassens,Martijn S. van Noorden,Erik J. Giltay,Johannes van Pelt,Tineke van Veen,Frans G. Zitman +5 more
TL;DR: Although basal cortisol patterns were similar in the two groups, exposure to childhood trauma seemed to be related to a blunted HPA-axis reactivity in women who were free of current or lifetime psychopathology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Catecholaminergic Neuromodulation Shapes Intrinsic MRI Functional Connectivity in the Human Brain.
Ruud L. van den Brink,Thomas Pfeffer,Christopher M. Warren,Peter R. Murphy,Klodiana-Daphne Tona,Nic J.A. van der Wee,E.J. Giltay,Martijn S. van Noorden,Serge A.R.B. Rombouts,Tobias H. Donner,Sander Nieuwenhuis +10 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that neuromodulation is an important factor shaping the topography of intrinsic functional connectivity in the human brain, and norepinephrine and dopamine are identified as important factors shaping intrinsicfunctional connectivity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Catecholamine-Mediated Increases in Gain Enhance the Precision of Cortical Representations.
Christopher M. Warren,Eran Eldar,Ruud L. van den Brink,Klodianna Daphne Tona,Nic J.A. van der Wee,E.J. Giltay,Martijn S. van Noorden,Jos A. Bosch,Robert C. Wilson,Jonathan D. Cohen,Sander Nieuwenhuis +10 more
TL;DR: The results show a striking convergence and demonstrate that catecholamines increase the precision of neural representations, and suggest that this effect is mediated by increases in neural gain, thus offering a mechanistic account of this key finding.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gamma-hydroxybutyrate withdrawal syndrome: dangerous but not well-known.
TL;DR: Two cases of severe GHB withdrawal delirium are presented, an overview of the literature is provided, treatment recommendations are provided and the subject of textbooks nor guidelines are covered.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of atomoxetine on random and directed exploration in humans
Christopher M. Warren,Robert C. Wilson,Nic J.A. van der Wee,E.J. Giltay,Martijn S. van Noorden,Jonathan D. Cohen,Sander Nieuwenhuis +6 more
TL;DR: This work examined the hypothesis that random exploration is governed by the neuromodulatory locus coeruleus-norepinephrine system and found an effect of atomoxetine on random, but not directed exploration.
