"Artificial micro organs"--a microfluidic device for dielectrophoretic assembly of liver sinusoids.
Julia Schütte,Britta Hagmeyer,Felix Holzner,Massimo Kubon,Simon Werner,Christian Freudigmann,Karin Benz,J Böttger,Rolf Gebhardt,Holger Becker,Martin Stelzle +10 more
TL;DR: A new microfluidic test system for liver toxicity is developed based on an organ-like liver 3D co-culture of hepatocytes and endothelial cells, featuring cell culture chambers with integrated electrodes for the assembly of liver sinusoids by dielectrophoresis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Accumulation and trapping of hepatitis A virus particles by electrohydrodynamic flow and dielectrophoresis.
TL;DR: Hepatitis A virus particles were successfully accumulated and trapped in a microfluidic system by means of a combination of electrohydrodynamic flow and dielectrophoretic forces, which might be applicable to sample concentration enhancement in biosensor applications.
Patent
Active retina implant with a multiplicity of pixel elements
Heinz Gerhard Graf,Alexander Dollberg,Bernd Hoefflinger,Wilfried Nisch,Hugo Haemmerle,Alfred Stett,Martin Stelzle,Eberhart Zrenner +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an active retina implant has a multiplicity of pixel elements that convert incident light into electric stimulation signals for cells of the retina with which stimulation electrodes are to make contact.
Patent
Method and device for taking measurements of cells which are contained in a liquid environment
TL;DR: In this paper, a method and a device for taking measurements of cells (60) which are contained in a liquid environment is described, where the negative pressure is created in order to attach the cell by suction.
Patent
Retina implant assembly and methods for manufacturing the same
Wilfried Nisch,Alfred Stett,Markus Schubert,Michael Graf,Heinz Gerhard Graf,Hugo Hämmerle,Eberhart Zrenner,Martin Stelzle,Helmut G. Sachs +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a retina implant including a chip adapted to be implanted into the interior of eye in subretinal contact with the retina is described. But this implant is not suitable for the use in medical applications.
