Pedagosko i psiholosko testiranje i procjenjivanje spadaju među najvažnije doprinose znanosti o ponasanju nasem drustvu i pružaju temeljna i znacajna poboljsanja u odnosu na ranije postupke. Iako se ne može ustvrditi da su svi testovi dovoljno usavrseni niti da su sva testiranja razborita i korisna, postoji velika kolicina informacija koje ukazuju na ucinkovitost kvalitetnih instrumenata u onim situacijama u kojima je njihovo koristenje potkrijepljeno validacijskim podacima. Pravilna upotreba testova može dovesti do boljih odluka o pojedincima i programima nego sto bi to bio slucaj bez njihovog koristenja, a također i ukazati na put za siri i pravedniji pristup obrazovanju i zaposljavanju. Međutim, losa upotreba testova može dovesti do zamjetne stete nanesene ispitanicima i drugim sudionicima u procesu donosenja odluka na temelju testovnih podataka. Cilj Standarda je promoviranje kvalitetne i eticne upotrebe testova te uspostavljanje osnovice za ocjenu kvalitete postupaka testiranja. Svrha objavljivanja Standarda je uspostavljanje kriterija za evaluaciju testova, provedbe testiranja i posljedica upotrebe testova. Iako bi evaluacija prikladnosti testa ili njegove primjene trebala ovisiti prvenstveno o strucnim misljenjima, Standardi pružaju okvir koji osigurava obuhvacanje svih relevantnih pitanja. Bilo bi poželjno da svi autori, sponzori, nakladnici i korisnici profesionalnih testova usvoje Standarde te da poticu druge da ih također prihvate.

Door de vergrijzing zal het aantal ouderen (55-plussers) de komende decen nia progressief stijgen. In 2003 was 14 procent van de bevolking 65 jaar of ouder, in 2040 zal dit percentage zijn hoogste punt bereiken en zijn toegenomen tot 23 procent. De schatting is dat het aandeel 55-plussers dan zal zijn toegenomen tot 35 procent van de totale bevolking. Deze toename is het gevolg van de zogenoemde dubbele vergrijzing. Het aantal ouderen neemt absoluut gezien toe en de ouderen worden gemiddeld steeds nog iets ouder. Als ouderen zo lang mogelijk zelfstandig kunnen blijven functioneren, heeft dat gunstige gevolgen. In de eerste plaats neemt de kwaliteit van leven van de ouderen toe. In de tweede plaats kunnen als gevolg van hun langer zelfstandig en onafhankelijk functioneren waarschijnlijk aanzienlijke kostenbesparingen in de gezondheidszorg worden gerealiseerd.

Overloading is hypothesized to be one of the failure mechanisms following total elbow arthroplasty (TEA). It is unclear whether the current post-operative loading instruction is compliant with reported failure mechanisms. Aim is therefore to evaluate the elbow joint load during activities of daily living (ADL) and compare these loads with reported failure limits from retrieval and finite element studies.A scoping review of studies until 23 November 2021 investigating elbow joint load during ADL were identified by searching PubMed/Medline and Web of Science. Studies were eligible when: (1) reporting on the elbow joint load in native elbows or elbows with an elbow arthroplasty in adults; (2) full-text article was available.Twenty-eight studies with a total of 256 participants were included. Methodological quality was low in 3, moderate in 22 and high in 3 studies. Studies were categorized as 1) close to the body and 2) further away from the body. Tasks were then subdivided into: 1) cyclic flexion/extension, 2) push-up, 3) reaching, 4) self-care, 5) work. Mean flexion-extension joint load was 17 Nm, mean varus-valgus joint load 9 Nm, mean pronation-supination joint load 8 Nm and mean bone-on-bone contact force 337 N.The results of our scoping review give a first overview of the current knowledge on elbow joint loads during ADL. Surprisingly, the current literature is not sufficient to formulate a postoperative instruction for elbow joint loading, which is compliant with failure limits of the prosthesis. In addition, our current instruction does not appear to be evidence-based. Our recommendations offer a starting point to assist clinicians in providing informed decisions about post-operative instructions for their patients.

Elbow joint biomechanics during ADL focusing on total elbow arthroplasty - a scoping review

The aim of this study was to investigate changes in heart rate during submaximal exercise as an index of cardiovascular function in older adults participating in the Groningen Active Living Model recreational sports programme who were sedentary or underactive at baseline. A repeated measurement design was conducted; 151 participants were included, providing 398 heart rate files over a period of 18 months. Multi-level analyses were conducted; growth and final models were developed. Significant decreases in mean heart rate over time were observed for all walking speeds. The covariates of sex and body mass index (BMI) were significantly related to mean heart rate at each walking speed, except for BMI at 7 km · h−1. No significant relationships were observed between energy expenditure for recreational sports activities and leisure-time physical activities and mean heart rate, except for energy expenditure for leisure-time physical activities at 7 km · h−1.
