Journal ArticleDOI

Composition and technological properties of geopolymers based on metakaolin and red mud

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of source materials on the microstructure and mechanical properties of metakaolin, iron oxide, and red mud mixtures were studied, and the results showed that longer curing time improves the geopolymerization state resulting in higher compressive load.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stabilization/solidification of heavy metals in kaolin/zeolite based geopolymers

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the efficiency and mechanism of immobilization of Pb(II), Cu(II, Cd(II) and Cr(III) metal solutions in kaolin/zeolite based geopolymers.
Journal ArticleDOI

The influence of using Jordanian natural zeolite on the adsorption, physical, and mechanical properties of geopolymers products.

TL;DR: The results confirmed that this natural zeolitic tuff can be used as a filler of stable geopolymers with high mechanical properties and high adsorption capacity towards methylene blue and Cu(II) ions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fabrication, microstructural and mechanical characterization of Luffa Cylindrical Fibre - Reinforced geopolymer composite

TL;DR: In this article, the preparation, microstructure, density and mechanical properties of new geopolymer composites (LG-composite) that are unidirectionally and randomly reinforced with 10-vol% natural Luffa Cylindical fibres (LCF) were reported.
Book ChapterDOI

Biomass fly ash and biomass bottom ash

TL;DR: The use of fly ash from the combustion of biomass is conditioned on its physico-mechanical properties, but there is not much literature on the use of these ashes in construction materials as mentioned in this paper.
