Female Board Directorship and Firm Performance : What Really Matters?
TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the relationship between female directorship and firms' accounting and market-based (Tobin's Q) performance, and found that female directors significantly increased ROA and ROE, and significantly decreased Tobin's Q. They postulate that these relationships are affected by the attributes of female directors.

TL;DR: This paper investigated the role of family involvement in the relationship between corporate social responsibility reporting and firm market value using a longitudinal archival data set in the French context and found that family firms report less information on their CSR duties than do non-family firms.
