Journal ArticleDOI

Bile acids. 28. Gas chromatography of new bile acids and their derivatives.

TL;DR: In this paper, the new phases OV-1 and OV17 were compared with QF-1 in the gas chromatographic analysis of 80 methyl 5β- and 5α-cholanoates and their complete trimethylsilyl (TMSi) ethers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of 12alpha-hydroxylation of oxygenated 5alpha-cholestanes and allochenodeoxycholate with rat liver microsomes.

Mei Mei Mui, +1 more
- 17 Jun 1975 -
TL;DR: It is suggested that a single enzyme system may be responsible for 12alpha-hydroxylation of these substrates, as the coplanar 5alpha-cholestane-3alpha,7alpha-diol is virtually superimposable upon 7 alpha-hydroxycholEST-4-en-3-one.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bile Acids XXXII. ALLOCHOLIC ACID, A METABOLITE OF ALLOCHENODEOXYCHOLIC ACID IN BILE FISTULA RATS

TL;DR: Results show a distinct difference in the metabolism of the 5α- and 5β-cholanic acids and demonstrate for the first time the 12α-hydroxylation of a cholanic acid nucleus in the rat.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bile acids XXXIII. The synthesis of allomuricholic acids

TL;DR: In this article, the trihydroxy bile acids derived from rat bile after administration of allochenodeoxycholic acid, the isomeric allomuricholic acids (3α, 6, 7-trihydroxy-5α-cholanic acids) were prepared.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bile acids XLII. Preparation of 5α-cholestan-26-oic acids from kryptogenin

TL;DR: In this paper, 3β, 7α-dihydroxy-5α-cholestanoic acids and its 3β-isomer were characterized by thin layer and gas liquid chromatography, and mass spectrometry.
