Freeze-form Extrusion Fabrication of Ceramic Parts
TL;DR: In this paper, a freeze-form extrusion fabrication (FEF) method was developed for the fabrication of ceramic-based components, which is based on deposition of ceramic pastes using water as the media, and three-dimensional shaped components were fabricated by extrusion deposition of the ceramic paste in a layer-by-layer fashion.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aqueous‐based freeze‐form extrusion fabrication of alumina components
TL;DR: In this paper, an inexpensive and environmentally friendly solid free-form fabrication technique, called the freeze-form extrusion fabrication (FEF), was developed, which used a highly loaded aqueous ceramic paste with a small quantity of organic binder to fabricate a green part layer by layer with a computer-controlled 3D gantry machine.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aqueous-Based Extrusion of High Solids Loading Ceramic Pastes: Process Modeling and Control
TL;DR: Aqueous-based extrusion fabrication (ABEF) has been developed for the manufacture of ceramic-based components in an environmentally friendly fashion as discussed by the authors, which is based on the extrusion of ceramic pastes using water as the medium.
Aqueous-based extrusion fabrication of ceramics on demand (preprint)
Michael S. Mason,Tieshu Huang,Robert G. Landers,Ming C. Leu,Gregory E. Hilmas,Michael W. Hayes +5 more
TL;DR: Aqueous-Based Extrusion Fabrication (ABEF) is an additive manufacturing technique that extrudes ceramic slurries of high solids loading layer by layer for part fabrication as discussed by the authors.
Freeze-Form Extrusion Fabrication of Ceramics
TL;DR: In this paper, the Freeze-form Extrusion Fabrication (FEF) method was proposed for the fabrication of ceramic-based components, which is based on deposition of ceramic pastes using water as the media.
