Assessment of High Risk for Alzheimer’s Disease Using Plasma Biomarkers in Subjects with Normal Cognition in Taiwan: A Preliminary Study
Chaur-Jong Hu,Ming-Jang Chiu,Ming-Chyi Pai,Sui-Hing Yan,Pei Ning Wang,Pei Ning Wang,Pai-Yi Chiu,Chin-Hsien Lin,Ta-Fu Chen,Fu-Chi Yang,Kuo-Lun Huang,Yi-Ting Hsu,Yi-Chou Hou,Yi-Chou Hou,Wei-Che Lin,Cheng-Hsien Lu,Li-Kai Huang,Shieh-Yueh Yang +17 more
TL;DR: The percentage of HRAD in cognitively normal subjects are approximately 10%, which reveals that the potentially public-health problem of AD in normal population, which reveals the risk of suffering cognitive impairment in future is relatively high.
The neuropsychological studies of dementias in Taiwan: focus on way-finding problems in Alzheimer's patients.
TL;DR: Pai and his colleagues have used experimentally designed tasks to test AD patients what they have called "the retrogenetic hypothesis of navigational ability" and have begun to explore this issue by using electrophysiological tools and yielded some results.
Journal ArticleDOI
Have I Been Here? Sense of Location in People With Alzheimer's Disease.
Ming-Chyi Pai,Shau Shiun Jan +1 more
TL;DR: Examining the sense of location (SoL) in persons with mild AD, persons with prodromal AD, and those who were cognitively unimpaired showed distinct features among the three groups, which can be used to develop more delicate devices or instruments to detect, monitor, and aid spatial navigation in people with prAD and AD.
