Calibration of the Radiocarbon Time Scale for the Southern Hemisphere: AD 1850-950
F. G. McCormac,Paula J. Reimer,Alan G. Hogg,Thomas Higham,Michael Baillie,Jonathan G. Palmer,Minze Stuiver +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented a Southern Hemisphere high-precision calibration data set (SHCal02) that comprises measurements from New Zealand, Chile, and South Africa, and a new value of 41 ± 14 yr for correction of the IntCal98 data for the period outside the range given here, is proposed for use in calibrating Southern Hemisphere 14C dates.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anthropogenic and solar components of hemispheric 14C
TL;DR: In this article, time dependent radiocarbon age differences, relative to Washington, were determined for Alaska (A.D. 1884-1932), South Chile, South Australia, Tasmania, and Siberia.
Journal ArticleDOI
GEOSECS Indian Ocean and Mediterranean radiocarbon.
Minze Stuiver,H. G. Ostlund +1 more
TL;DR: The third part of a series detailing the general features of 14C distribution in the world oceans can be found in this article, where Stuiver et al. discussed the 14C activities of Atlantic and Pacific Ocean waters and profiles for one Mediterranean and three Red Sea stations.
Comment on "Radiocarbon Calibration Curve Spanning 0 to 50,000 Years B.P. Based on Paired 230Th/234U/238U and 14C Dates on Pristine Corals" by R.G. Fairbanks, R. A. Mortlock, T.-C. Chiu, L. Cao, A. Kaplan, T. P. Guilderson, T. W. Fairbanks, A. L. Bloom, P
Paula J. Reimer,M. L. Baillie,Edouard Bard,J. W. Beck,Paul G. Blackwell,Caitlin E. Buck,George S. Burr,R. L. Edwards,Michael Friedrich,T. P. Guilderson,Alan G. Hogg,Konrad A Hughen,Bernd Kromer,Gerry McCormac,Sturt W. Manning,Ron W Reimer,John Southon,Minze Stuiver,J der Plicht,C. E. Weyhenmeyer +19 more
TL;DR: Chiu et al. as discussed by the authors recently published a "calibration curve spanning 0-50,000 years", which they claim is superior to that generated by the IntCal working group.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Taylor Dome Antarctic 18O Record and Globally Synchronous Changes in Climate
Pieter Meiert Grootes,Eric J. Steig,Minze Stuiver,Edwin D. Waddington,David L. Morse,Marie-Josée Nadeau +5 more
TL;DR: The 18O/16O profile of a 554m long ice core through Taylor Dome, Antarctica, shows the climate variability of the last glacial-interglacial cycle in detail and extends at least another full cycle as discussed by the authors.
