TL;DR: Two-dimensional spectra were collected to confirm the fine structure of the hetero- and homopolymeric fractions, and good agreement was obtained between its corresponding calculated vibrations and the experimental bands assigned to homopolyguluronic acid blocks.

TL;DR: The in vitro antiproliferative activity of the title compound on five tumor cell lines shows preference for the colon-rectal tumor HCT116, IC(50) = 13.98 μM, followed by breast MCF7 and ovarian A2780 cell lines; human glioblastoma U-87 and lung carcinoma A549 are less sensitive.

Structural basis for antioxidant activity of trans-resveratrol: ab initio calculations and crystal and molecular structure.
TL;DR: Structural features of mechanistic importance correlate with the biological activity of resveratrol as an antioxidant and support earlier studies showing H-atom transfer to be the dominant mechanism by which phenolic antioxidants intercept free radicals.
