Prediction of initial product distributions from pyrolysis of normal paraffinic hydrocarbons

TL;DR: In this paper, a generalization of the free-radical chain mechanism to heavy paraffinic hydrocarbons has been studied for practical purposes and a new model is constructed by avoiding a direct approach to the problem of isomerization, while preserving its effect on the distribution of products.
Journal ArticleDOI

PREDICTION OF INITIAL PRODUCT DISTRIBUTION FROM n-PARAFFIN PYROLYSIS AT HIGHER TEMPERATURES BY CONSIDERING ETHYL RADICAL DECOMPOSITION

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effect of the free-radical chain reaction mechanism on the initial product distribution of normal paraffinic hydrocarbons and showed that the amount of reaction products hydrogen, ethylene and ethane are considerably affected by the reaction conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Simulation of pyrolysis of paraffinic hydrocarbon binary mixtures

TL;DR: In this article, the authors defined the contact time based on superficial flow rate in a spherical (cylindrical) catalyst, where the ratio of contact time to superficial velocity in the catalyst bed was calculated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Simulation of product distributions from pyrolysis of normal and branched alkane mixtures over a wide range of conversions

TL;DR: In this paper, a simulation model for the product distribution of pure alkane was applied to the pyrolysis of branched alkane mixtures by taking into account the interaction between coexisting components.
