Effect of martensite plasticity on the deformation behavior of a low-carbon dual-phase steel

TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental study has been conducted to quantify the effects of martensite plasticity on the mechanical properties of a commercial low-carbon (0.06 wt pct) dual-phase steel.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of grain size on pitting corrosion of 304L austenitic stainless steel

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of grain size on pitting corrosion of 304L stainless steel in 3.5-wt. NaCl solution was investigated by electrochemical methods employing the statistical approach.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dynamic recrystallization behavior of a superaustenitic stainless steel containing 16%Cr and 25%Ni

TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the dynamic recrystallization behavior of austenite in a superaustenitic stainless steel containing 16%Cr and 25%Ni using hot compression tests in a temperature range of 900°C-1200°C and at strain rate of 0.001−s −1 − 1 − 1s − 1 s − 1, and the apparent activation energy for the hot deformation was calculated to be about 484 kJ/mol.
Journal ArticleDOI

Eddy current nondestructive evaluation of dual phase steel

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed eddy current testing (ECT) as a tool for nondestructive material characterization and found a good correlation exists between ECT outputs and microstructural and mechanical changes in the DPS specimens.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparative study of eddy current and Barkhausen noise nondestructive testing methods in microstructural examination of ferrite-martensite dual-phase steel

TL;DR: In this paper, the magnetic properties of dual-phase steels were evaluated using eddy current and Barkhausen noise nondestructive testing methods and correlated with their microstructural changes.
