Journal ArticleDOI
Eco-friendly green synthesis of dextrin based poly (methyl methacrylate) grafted silver nanocomposites and their antibacterial and antibiofilm efficacy against multi-drug resistance pathogens
Imran Hasan,Faizan Abul Qais,Fohad Mabood Husain,Rais Ahmad Khan,Ali Alsalme,Bader Alenazi,Mohammad Usman,Mohammed H. Jaafar,Iqbal Ahmad +8 more
TL;DR: Green synthesized nanoparticles can be used as an alternative in management of MDR infection at least for tropical application after careful in vivo validation.
Journal ArticleDOI
New route for preparation and characterization of magnetite nanoparticles
TL;DR: In this article, naked magnetic nanoparticles were synthesized by mixing and stirring two equivalents of iron(II) chloride tetrahydrate with three equivalents of Iron(III) chloride hexahydrate at room temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI
Insights into the strong in-vitro anticancer effects for bis(triphenylphosphane)iminium compounds having perchlorate, tetrafluoridoborate and bis(chlorido)argentate anions.
Alessandra Folda,Valeria Scalcon,Mohamed Ghazzali,Mohammed H. Jaafar,Rais Ahmad Khan,Angela Casini,Anna Citta,Alberto Bindoli,Maria Pia Rigobello,Khalid Al-Farhan,Ali Alsalme,Jan Reedijk,Jan Reedijk +12 more
TL;DR: Three new compounds containing the bis(triphenylphosphane)iminium cation with ClO4(-), BF4(-) and [AgCl2](-) as counter anions have been synthesized and structurally characterized and show extremely potent antiproliferative effects against the human cancer cell line SKOV3.
Journal ArticleDOI
β-Carboline Silver Compound Binding Studies with Human Serum Albumin: A Comprehensive Multispectroscopic Analysis and Molecular Modeling Study.
Ali Alsalme,Rais Ahmad Khan,Arwa M. Alkathiri,Mohd. Sajid Ali,Sartaj Tabassum,Mohammed H. Jaafar,Hamad A. Al-Lohedan +6 more
TL;DR: The fluorescence results establish that the phenomenon of binding of Ag(Hnor) complexes to HSA can be deduced from the static quenching mechanism, and may contribute to understanding the propensity of proteins involved in neurological diseases to undergo a similar transition in the presence of Ag-β-carboline compounds.
Journal ArticleDOI
A series of bimetallic chain coordination polymers bearing [Ag(PPh3)2] chromophores: Synthesis, structure and luminescence
Mohamed Ghazzali,Mohammed H. Jaafar,Sebastiaan Akerboom,Ali Alsalme,Khalid Al-Farhan,Jan Reedijk,Jan Reedijk +6 more
TL;DR: A series of three cyanide-bridged chain coordination polymers with the formulae [M(CN)2(PPh3)2Ag]n (M is Ag, Cu or Au) is presented in this article.
