Journal ArticleDOI
Age-related death-survival balance in myocardium: an immunohistochemical and biochemical study.
Lucia Centurione,Adriano Antonucci,Sebastiano Miscia,Alfredo Grilli,Monica Rapino,Giovanna Grifone,Viviana di Giacomo,Camillo Di Giulio,Mirella Falconi,Amelia Cataldi +9 more
TL;DR: Ageing myocardial cells disclose a suboptimal response, which underlines the possibility that they can become more sensitive to damaging factors or diseases, more frequently occurring during ageing, probably due to an exploited molecular control of apoptosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
p53 and p66 proteins compete for hypoxia-inducible factor 1 alpha stabilization in young and old rat hearts exposed to intermittent hypoxia.
TL;DR: The different responses to hypoxic challenge during life show that the young seem the most reactive and damaged, as is well documented by p53-mediated HIF-1α stabilization, while increasing p66 expression and tyrosine phosphorylation provide evidence of longevity and oxidative stress resistance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antioxidant and Neuroprotective Effects Induced by Cannabidiol and Cannabigerol in Rat CTX-TNA2 Astrocytes and Isolated Cortexes
Viviana di Giacomo,Annalisa Chiavaroli,Lucia Recinella,Giustino Orlando,Amelia Cataldi,Monica Rapino,Valentina Di Valerio,Maurizio Ronci,Sheila Leone,Luigi Brunetti,Luigi Menghini,Gokhan Zengin,Gunes Ak,Hassan H. Abdallah,Hassan H. Abdallah,Claudio Ferrante +15 more
TL;DR: The results in the in vitro system suggest brain non-neuronal cells as a target in the treatment of oxidative conditions, whereas findings in the ex vivo system and docking analyses imply the potential roles of CBD and CBG as neuroprotective agents.
Journal ArticleDOI
Metabolomic Profile and Antioxidant/Anti-Inflammatory Effects of Industrial Hemp Water Extract in Fibroblasts, Keratinocytes and Isolated Mouse Skin Specimens.
Viviana di Giacomo,Lucia Recinella,Annalisa Chiavaroli,Giustino Orlando,Amelia Cataldi,Monica Rapino,Valentina Di Valerio,Matteo Politi,Marco Daniel Antolini,Alessandra Acquaviva,Francesco Bacchin,Massimo Di Mascio,Sheila Leone,Luigi Brunetti,Luigi Menghini,Simone Carradori,Gokhan Zengin,Gunes Ak,Claudio Ferrante +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the phenolic and terpenophenolic compounds were assayed in the water extract of the hemp variety Futura 75 and the results of phytochemical analysis suggested the cannabidiol, cannabbidiolic acid and rutin as the prominent phytocompounds.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neuroprotective and Neuromodulatory Effects Induced by Cannabidiol and Cannabigerol in Rat Hypo-E22 cells and Isolated Hypothalamus
Viviana di Giacomo,Annalisa Chiavaroli,Giustino Orlando,Amelia Cataldi,Monica Rapino,Valentina Di Valerio,Sheila Leone,Luigi Brunetti,Luigi Menghini,Lucia Recinella,Claudio Ferrante +10 more
TL;DR: The CBD modulates hypothalamic neuromodulators consistently with its anorexigenic role, whereas the CBG effect on the same mediators suggests alternative mechanisms, possibly involving peripheral pathways.
