Journal ArticleDOI
Community Air Sensor Network (CAIRSENSE) project: Evaluation of low-cost sensor performance in a suburban environment in the southeastern United States
Wan Jiao,Gayle S.W. Hagler,Ron Williams,Robert Sharpe,Ryan Brown,Daniel Garver,Robert Judge,Motria Caudill,Joshua Rickard,Michael Davis,Lewis Weinstock,Susan Zimmer-Dauphinee,Ken Buckley +12 more
TL;DR: The performance of emerging air quality sensor technologies in a real-world setting is demonstrated; the variable agreement between sensors and reference monitors indicates that in situ testing of sensors against benchmark monitors should be a critical aspect of all field studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Urinary 1-hydroxypyrene as a biomarker of PAH exposure in 3-year-old Ukrainian children.
Amy P. Mucha,Daniel O. Hryhorczuk,Andrij Serdyuk,Joseph Nakonechny,Alexander Zvinchuk,Serap Erdal,Motria Caudill,Peter A. Scheff,Elena Lukyanova,Zoreslava Shkiryak-Nyzhnyk,Natalia Chislovska +10 more
TL;DR: This sample of children in Mariupol has the highest reported mean urinary 1-OHP concentrations in children studied to date, most likely due to their proximity to a large industrial point source of PAHs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interpreting Mobile and Handheld Air Sensor Readings in Relation to Air Quality Standards and Health Effect Reference Values: Tackling the Challenges.
George M. Woodall,Mark D. Hoover,Ronald Williams,Kristen Benedict,Martin Harper,Jhy-Charm Soo,Annie M. Jarabek,Michael J. Stewart,James S. Brown,Janis E. Hulla,Motria Caudill,Andrea L. Clements,Amanda Kaufman,Alison J. Parker,Martha H. Keating,David M. Balshaw,Kevin Garrahan,Laureen Burton,Sheila Batka,Vijay S. Limaye,Pertti J. Hakkinen,Bob Thompson +21 more
TL;DR: The challenges, successes, and promising tools of initial ASHG efforts and Federal agency progress on crafting similar products for use with other NAAQS pollutants and the HAPs are summarized.
Journal ArticleDOI
Application of passive sorbent tube and canister samplers for volatile organic compounds at refinery fenceline locations in Whiting, Indiana.
Shaibal Mukerjee,Luther Smith,Motria Caudill,Karen D. Oliver,Wayne Whipple,Donald A. Whitaker,Tamira A. Cousett +6 more
TL;DR: The findings from this study provide additional confidence in application of the tube method at refineries to ascertain VOC source influence since tube and canister samplers were comparable and good precision was obtained from duplicate sampling for both methods.
