Conventional and Metaheuristic Optimization Algorithms for Solving Short Term Hydrothermal Scheduling Problem: A Review

TL;DR: A comprehensive review of research published for solving the short-term hydrothermal scheduling problem in the last four decades is presented in this paper, where a number of research articles have been published addressing STHTS using different techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI

Selective Harmonic Elimination in a Cascaded Multilevel Inverter of Distributed Power Generators Using Water Cycle Algorithm

TL;DR: This paper demonstrates the efficacy of the proposed water cycle algorithm (WCA) by performing a rigorous comparison with existing meta-heuristic algorithms and presents that the proposed algorithm provides a competitive percentage of elimination of selected harmonics when compared with other meta- heuristic algorithms.
Journal ArticleDOI

Selective Harmonic Elimination in a Multilevel Inverter Using Multi-Criteria Search Enhanced Firefly Algorithm

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors proposed a new multi-criteria search based enhanced firefly algorithm for solving selective harmonic elimination in a multilevel inverter, which utilizes adaptive nature of social and cognitive components to find the global optima.
