Health beliefs among individuals at increased familial risk for type 2 diabetes: Implications for prevention
Janice S. Dorman,Rodolfo Valdez,Tiebin Liu,Catharine Wang,Wendy S. Rubinstein,Wendy S. Rubinstein,Wendy S. Rubinstein,Suzanne M. O'Neill,Louise S. Acheson,Mack T. Ruffin,Muin J. Khoury +10 more
TL;DR: Tailored lifestyle interventions for this group that assess health beliefs and emphasize approaches for preventing diabetes, as well as its vascular complications, may be an effective strategy for reducing the global burden of these serious but related chronic disorders.
Journal ArticleDOI
Trends in Postneonatal Mortality in the United States: 1962 Through 1978
TL;DR: A dramatic increase occurred in the reported rates of unexplained sudden infant death (SID), which emerged as the leading reported cause of PNM, and gaps in PNM continued to exist between whites and blacks, and between metropolitan and nonmetropolitan areas.
Journal ArticleDOI
Race-ethnic differences in the association of genetic loci with HbA1c levels and mortality in U.S. adults: the third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES III).
Jonna L. Grimsby,Bianca Porneala,Jason L. Vassy,Quanhe Yang,Jose C. Florez,Josée Dupuis,Tiebin Liu,Ajay Yesupriya,Man-Huei Chang,Renée M. Ned,Nicole F. Dowling,Muin J. Khoury,James B. Meigs +12 more
TL;DR: At many HbA1c loci in NHANES III there is substantial RAF race-ethnic heterogeneity, and at six loci race- ethnic differences in RAF were significant, with NHB usually the most divergent.
