TL;DR: High negative EFISH μβ values are observed upon photocyclization, suggesting that the quadratic NLO response is dominated by the MLCT/L'LCT processes, rather than by the intraligand excited states localized on the substituted bipyridine ligand.

A novel multifunctional cyclometallated iridium(III) complex with interesting second-order nonlinear optical properties and two-photon absorption activity

TL;DR: In this article, a novel cationic cyclometallated Ir(III) complex, namely [Ir(C^N-ppy-4-CH CHC 6 H 4 NEt 2 ) 2 (N^Nbpy-CHCH 6H 4 NET 2 )][PF 6 ] (ppy = 2phenylpyridine; bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine), was prepared and well characterized.
