Journal ArticleDOI
Fabrication and superfluorescence of rare-earth chelate-doped graded index polymer optical fibers
Takeyuki Kobayashi,Shiro Nakatsuka,Takami Iwafuji,Ken Kuriki,Nana Imai,Takashi Nakamoto,Charles D. Claude,Keisuke Sasaki,Yasuhiro Koike,Yoshi Okamoto +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, rare-earth chelate-doped graded index (GI) polymer optical fibers (POF) are proposed and fabricated and the attenuation loss is measured to be 0.4 dB/m at 650 nm for a GI POF doped with 1 wt/% of europium (Eu) chelate.
Journal ArticleDOI
High-efficiency organic dye-doped polymer optical fiber lasers
Ken Kuriki,Takeyuki Kobayashi,Nana Imai,Toshihiko Tamura,Susumu Nishihara,Yukihisa Nishizawa,Akihiro Tagaya,Yasuhiro Koike,Yoshi Okamoto +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a graded-index polymer optical fiber containing rhodamine 6G in poly(methyl methacrylate-co-2-hydroxyethyl methACrylate) has been fabricated, which was observed by pumping with a frequency-doubled Q-switched Nd: yttrium-aluminum-garnet laser.
Journal ArticleDOI
Organic dye-doped polymer optical fiber laser
TL;DR: In this paper, the lasing action of the graded-index polymer optical fibers containing dyes, such as Rhodamine B, Rhodamine 6G, Perylene orange and Pyrromethene 567, was reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fabrication and properties of polymer optical fibers containing Nd-chelate
Ken Kuriki,Takeyuki Kobayashi,Nana Imai,Toshihiko Tamura,Susumu Nishihara,A. Tagaya,Yasuhiro Koike,Yoshi Okamoto +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a Nd/sup 3+ ion of the fiber at room temperature when it was pumped with an Ar/sup +/-pumped dye laser at 580 nm.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
High-power polymer optical fiber lasers and amplifiers
Takeyuki Kobayashi,Ken Kuriki,Nana Imai,Toshihiko Tamura,Keisuke Sasaki,Yasuhiro Koike,Yoshiyuki Okamoto +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors demonstrated efficient and photostable laser action in graded index polymer fiber lasers doped with organic dyes such as Rhodamines, Perylenes and Pyrromethenes Slope efficiency of 47 percent and output of 26 mJ have been obtained with a Rhodamine 6G-doped fiber laser.
