We propose a scheme for asymmetric bidirectional controlled teleportation by using a six-qubit cluster state as quantum channel. In our scheme, Alice can transmit an arbitrary two-qubit entangled state to Bob and at the same time Bob can teleport an arbitrary single-qubit state to Alice under the control of the supervisor Charlie.

Asymmetric Bidirectional Controlled Teleportation by Using Six-qubit Cluster State

We present an efficient scheme for five-party quantum state sharing (QSTS) of an arbitrary m-qubit state with multiqubit cluster states. Unlike the three-partite QSTS schemes using the same quantum channel [Phys. Rev. A 78, 062333 (2008)], our scheme for sharing of quantum information among five parties utilizing a cluster state as an entangled resource. It is found that the six-partite cluster state can be used for QSTS of an entangled state, the five-partite cluster state can be used for QSTS of an arbitrary two-qubit state and also can be used for QSTS of an arbitrary m-qubit state. It involves two-qubit Bell-basis or three-qubit GHZ-basis measurements, not multipartite joint measurements, which makes it more convenient than some previous schemes. In addition, the total efficiency really approaches the maximal value.

An efficient scheme for five-party quantum state sharing of an arbitrary m-qubit state using multiqubit cluster states

The information-carrying capacity of a single photon can be vastly expanded by exploiting its multiple degrees of freedom: spatial, temporal, and polarization. Although multiple qubits can be encoded per photon, to date only two-qubit single-photon quantum operations have been realized. Here, we report an experimental demonstration of three-qubit single-photon, linear, deterministic quantum gates that exploit photon polarization and the two-dimensional spatial-parity-symmetry of the transverse single-photon field. These gates are implemented using a polarization-sensitive spatial light modulator that provides a robust, non-interferometric, versatile platform for implementing controlled unitary gates. Polarization here represents the control qubit for either separable or entangling unitary operations on the two spatial-parity target qubits. Such gates help generate maximally entangled three-qubit Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger and W states, which is confirmed by tomographical reconstruction of single-photon density matrices. This strategy provides access to a wide range of three-qubit states and operations for use in few-qubit quantum information processing protocols. Photons are essential for quantum information processing, but to date only two-qubit single-photon operations have been realized. Here the authors demonstrate experimentally a three-qubit single-photon linear deterministic quantum gate by exploiting polarization along with spatial-parity symmetry.

Single-photon three-qubit quantum logic using spatial light modulators

We investigate two-party quantum teleportation through noisy channels for multi-qubit Greenberger---Horne---Zeilinger (GHZ) states and find which state loses less quantum information in the process. The dynamics of states is described by the master equation with the noisy channels that lead to the quantum channels to be mixed states. We analytically solve the Lindblad equation for $$n$$n-qubit GHZ states $$n\in \{4,5,6\}$$n?{4,5,6} where Lindblad operators correspond to the Pauli matrices and describe the decoherence of states. Using the average fidelity, we show that 3GHZ state is more robust than $$n$$nGHZ state under most noisy channels. However, $$n$$nGHZ state preserves same quantum information with respect to Einstein---Podolsky---Rosen and 3GHZ states where the noise is in $$x$$x direction in which the fidelity remains unchanged. We explicitly show that Jung et al.'s conjecture (Phys Rev A 78:012312, 2008), namely "average fidelity with same-axis noisy channels is in general larger than average fidelity with different-axes noisy channels," is not valid for 3GHZ and 4GHZ states.

Quantum teleportation through noisy channels with multi-qubit GHZ states

Construction of a fault-tolerant quantum computer remains a challenging problem due to unavoidable noise and fragile quantum states. However, this goal can be achieved by introducing quantum error-correcting codes. Here, we experimentally realize an automated error correction code and demonstrate the nondestructive discrimination of GHZ states in IBM 5-qubit quantum computer. After performing quantum state tomography, we obtain the experimental results with a high fidelity. Finally, we generalize the investigated code for maximally entangled n-qudit case, which could both detect and automatically correct any arbitrary phase-change error, or any phase-flip error, or any bit-flip error, or combined error of all types of error.

(Nature 3:91, 2007) is investigated for quantum communication protocols like quantum teleportation and quantum information splitting (QIS) and dense coding. We show that the present state can be used for the teleportation of an arbitrary two qubit state deterministically. Later, we devise two distinct protocols for the QIS of an arbitrary two qubit state among two parties. We construct sixteen orthogonal measurement basis on the cluster state, which will lock an arbitrary two qubit state among two parties. The capability of the state for dense coding is investigated and it is shown that one can send five classical bits by sending only three qubits using this state as a shared entangled resource. We finally show that this state can also be utilised in the remote state preparation of an arbitrary two qubit state.
