Online Platforms Used for Teaching and Learning during the COVID-19 Era: The Case of LIS Students in Delta State University, Abraka

Background: Competent nurses' performance and typical work climate are targets that challenge hospital administrators to achieve likely results for success. A positive work climate leads to and sustains nurses' motivation and high performance. Aim: This study aimed to explore the relationship between organizational climate and nurses' performance. Material and methods: A quantitative descriptive correlational research design was utilized. A sample of 110 nurses was recruited from all inpatients' department of the Main Mansoura University Hospital. Tools of data collection: Personal and job characteristics of the participants, organizational climate questionnaire and nurses’ performance evaluation. Results: The study findings highlighted that 51% of the nurses had positive work climate with a higher mean score (12.15±2.39) for customer service while the lowest mean score (5.65±3.1) for compensation. And 30.9 % of nurses had competent performance level with a higher mean score for hospital behavioral expectations domain (75.51±10.41), while the lowest mean score was for education domain (6.91±1.42). A significant relationship was found only between nurses’ performance and age (8.44) and educational level (8.42). Conclusion: The study concluded that a statistically significant positive association was also identified between nurses’ perception of work climate and job performance (.049). So, hospital administrators must push nurses’ performance forward to a high level of competency through creating an exemplary work climate which values nurses, and allows them to share ideas, team spirit and creativity.

WhatsApp-Operated Stokvels Promoting Youth Entrepreneurship in Durban, South Africa: Experiences of Young Entrepreneurs

Technology is not a new concept. Humans have been innovating ways to make life easier from the beginning. Recently, these changes have been coming faster and faster. The effects of these new inventions cannot be measured or seen before a newer technology is born. For the sake of this paper the relationship between behavioral factors on the use of “WhatsApp” (a Smartphone technology) on the youth is considered. Technology itself is not a bad thing; actually, it has helped better millions of lives by education, job performance, and entertainment. However, it is becoming more of an impact and prevalent in the lives of its users. This leads to higher rates of technology addiction and can lead to numerous social, physical, and psychological problems. In this paper a descriptive research is conducted to analyze the behavioral consequences of the use of WhatsApp among youth (18-35 age group) in Jalandhar. A sample of 150 respondents (75 male and 75 female) was considered for collecting the data with the help of a structured questionnaire.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to examine the trends in research published by the TQM Journal since its indexing in the Scopus database in 2008. The paper intends to offer a bibliometric analysis of the TQM Journal by highlighting the contributions made by the journal through citations, prominent authors, most frequent keywords and publications across geographical regions.Design/methodology/approachThe study involved the use of descriptive and visual methods to examine the quantitative and qualitative features of the bibliometric data. The authors made use of Biblioshiny using R-Studio and VoS viewer user interfaces to perform various types of bibliometric analysis on the bibliomteric data of the journal extracted from Scopus database (the largest inter-disciplinary database in social sciences).FindingsWith 85% of cited documents having a total 12,079 citations, the TQM Journal is one of the most reputed and impactful journals in the field of performance, integrated management system total quality management and allied concepts. The publications in the TQM Journal have cited many top-rated journals relevant to the domain. Maximum contributions in TQM Journal are submitted by authors from Italy, India and UK. Major submissions made to TQM Journal have focused on the quality concepts relevant to production and manufacturing sector in particular. In this regard, the TQM Journal has a very bright scope in covering the diverse and latest trends across industries especially during pandemic and changes happening thereof. The contributions of the editorial team along with authors and reviewers are unmatchable in making the reputation of the TQM Journal.Originality/valueTo the best of knowledge of the authors, this is going to be first bibliometric study ever conducted on the TQM Journal on documents published in Scopus database. Recognizing the legacy of the TQM Journal: a bibliometric analysis of Scopus indexed publications (2008 - 2021)


Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to examine current trends in over the top (OTT) research through bibliometric analysis of Scopus and Web of Science indexed publications. This study attempted to identify the thrust areas that may be addressed through future research initiatives.


Design/methodology/approach
This study included bibliometric analysis of research articles published on OTT domain for a time period ranging from 2011 to 2021. The authors were able to extract 137 unique articles from selected databases with inclusion criteria limited to social sciences only. The retrieved data is then analyzed using the R studio and VoSviewer user interfaces. Finally, discussions on citations, keywords, authors and source contributions toward the development of field were presented using descriptive and visual displays.


Findings
OTT as a research theme has gained wider acceptance recently. However, there is a scarcity of studies on the subject. The authors discovered that previous studies in the field had focused on technological aspects of the domain thus leaving a plethora of opportunities for future researchers to explore. In this regard, the findings enlisted few unexplored domains specific to OTT that require immediate attention of the researchers and stakeholders. It was suggested to investigate the field from marketing, behavioral, regulatory, social and quality aspects so as to broaden its scope.


Originality/value
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is going to be the first bibliometric study ever conducted on OTT research. This study may be considered unique in identifying current trends in OTT research and recommending a course of action for future researchers.
