Journal ArticleDOI
Familial Mediterranean fever is associated with a wide spectrum of inflammatory disorders: results from a large cohort study
Nuh Atas,Berkan Armagan,Erdal Bodakçi,Hasan Satış,Alper Sari,Nazife Sule Yasar Bilge,Reyhan Bilici Salman,Gözde Kübra Yardımcı,Hakan Babaoglu,Aslıhan Avanoğlu Güler,Hazan Karadeniz,Levent Kilic,Mehmet Akif Ozturk,Berna Goker,Seminur Haznedaroglu,Umut Kalyoncu,Timuçin Kaşifoğlu,Abdurrahman Tufan +17 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that FMF is commonly associated with other inflammatory diseases, and clinicians should be cautious about comorbid inflammatory diseases in FMF patients, particularly in those with persistent inflammation.
Journal ArticleDOI
The distribution of MEFV mutations in Turkish FMF patients:multicenter study representing results of Anatolia
Nazife Sule Yasar Bilge,Ismail Sari,Dilek Solmaz,Abdurrahman Soner Şenel,Hakan Emmungil,Levent Kilic,Sibel Yilmaz Oner,Fatih Yildiz,Sedat Yilmaz,Emine Duygu Ersözlü,Müge Aydın Tufan,Sema Yilmaz,Veli Yazisiz,Yavuz Pehlivan,Cemal Bes,Gozde Yildirim Cetin,Şükran Erten,Emel Gönüllü,Fezan Mutlu,Servet Akar,Kenan Aksu,Umut Kalyoncu,Rafi Haner Direskeneli,Eren Erken,Bunyamin Kisacik,Mehmet Sayarlioğlu,Muhammet Cinar,Timuçin Kaşifoğlu +27 more
TL;DR: This large-scale multicenter study provided information about the frequencies of common MEFV gene mutations obtained from adult Turkish FMF patients, finding nearly half of the patients were carrying at least one M694V mutations in their alleles.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of early versus late onset familial Mediterranean fever
Nazife Sule Yasar Bilge,Ismail Sari,Dilek Solmaz,Soner Senel,Hakan Emmungil,Levent Kilic,Sibel Yilmaz Oner,Fatih Yildiz,Sedat Yilmaz,Duygu Ersozlu Bozkirli,Müge Aydın Tufan,Sema Yilmaz,Veli Yazisiz,Yavuz Pehlivan,Cemal Bes,Gozde Yildirim Cetin,Şükran Erten,Emel Gönüllü,Fezan Sahin,Servet Akar,Kenan Aksu,Umut Kalyoncu,Haner Direskeneli,Eren Erken,Mehmet Sayarlioglu,M. Cinar,Timuçin Kaşifoğlu +26 more
TL;DR: The primary aim of this study was to investigate these two subsets of familial Mediterranean fever with regard to their certain demographic, clinical and genetic differences.
Journal ArticleDOI
Regulatory T cells in Behçet's disease: is there a correlation with disease activity? Does regulatory T cell type matter?
Eren Gündüz,Hava Üsküdar Teke,Nazife Sule Yasar Bilge,Döndü Üsküdar Cansu,Cengiz Bal,Cengiz Korkmaz,Zafer Gulbas +6 more
TL;DR: Peripheral blood regulatory T cells are decreased in clinically active Behçet’s disease patients and the correlation with disease activity was found negatively correlated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Predictors of persistent inflammation in familial Mediterranean fever and association with damage.
Hakan Babaoglu,Berkan Armagan,Erdal Bodakçi,Hasan Satış,Nuh Atas,Alper Sari,Nazife Sule Yasar Bilge,Reyhan Bilici Salman,Gözde Kübra Yardımcı,Aslıhan Avanoğlu Güler,Hazan Karadeniz,Levent Kilic,Mehmet Akif Ozturk,Berna Goker,Seminur Haznedaroglu,Umut Kalyoncu,Timuçin Kaşifoğlu,Abdurrahman Tufan +17 more
TL;DR: Male gender, history of exertional leg pain, inflammatory comorbidities, M694V homozygosity, colchicine resistance, lower education levels and musculoskeletal attack dominance were found to be the independent predictors of persistent inflammation.
