Journal ArticleDOI
Preterm birth time trends in Europe: a study of 19 countries.
Jennifer Zeitlin,Jennifer Zeitlin,Katarzyna Szamotulska,Nicolas Drewniak,Nicolas Drewniak,Ashna D. Mohangoo,James D. Chalmers,Luule Sakkeus,Lorentz M. Irgens,Lorentz M. Irgens,Miriam Gatt,Mika Gissler,Béatrice Blondel,Béatrice Blondel +13 more
TL;DR: To investigate time trends in preterm birth in Europe by multiplicity, gestational age, and onset of delivery, a large number of cases are reported to have occurred within the first trimester of pregnancy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Out-of-hospital births and the supply of maternity units in France.
TL;DR: Rates of out-of-hospital births in France were more than double for women living 30km or more from their nearest unit and were even higher for women of high parity, and associations persisted in multilevel analyses adjusting for other maternal characteristics.
Journal ArticleDOI
Obstetric interventions for low-risk pregnant women in France: do maternity unit characteristics make a difference?
Bénédicte Coulm,Camille Le Ray,Nathalie Lelong,Nathalie Lelong,Nicolas Drewniak,Nicolas Drewniak,Jennifer Zeitlin,Béatrice Blondel +7 more
TL;DR: The concentration of births in large maternity units in France is not associated with higher rates of interventions for low-risk births, and the situation in private units could be explained by differences in the organization of care.

Jennifer Zeitlin,Katarzyna Szamotulska,Nicolas Drewniak,Ashna D. Mohangoo,James D. Chalmers,Luule Sakkeus,Lorentz M. Irgens,Miriam Gatt,Mika Gissler,Béatrice Blondel +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated time trends in preterm birth in Europe by multiplicity, gestational age, and onset of delivery, and found that the magnitude of these increases varied.
Journal ArticleDOI
Varying gestational age patterns in cesarean delivery: an international comparison.
Marie Delnord,Béatrice Blondel,Nicolas Drewniak,Kari Klungsøyr,Kari Klungsøyr,Francisco Bolumar,Ashna D. Mohangoo,Mika Gissler,Katarzyna Szamotulska,Nicholas Lack,Jan G. Nijhuis,Petr Velebil,Luule Sakkeus,James D. Chalmers,Jennifer Zeitlin +14 more
TL;DR: Gestational age patterns in cesarean delivery were heterogeneous across countries; these differences highlight areas where consensus on best practices is lacking and could be used in developing strategies to reduce ces Harean rates.
