Temporal solitons in optical microresonators
Tobias Herr,Victor Brasch,John D. Jost,C. Y. Wang,Nikita M. Kondratiev,Michael L. Gorodetsky,Tobias J. Kippenberg +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, temporal dissipative solitons are observed in a nonlinear, high-finesse, optical microresonator driven by a continuous-wave laser, enabling ultrashort pulses to be generated in spectral regimes lacking broadband laser gain media and saturable absorbers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Self-injection locking of a laser diode to a high-Q WGM microresonator
Nikita M. Kondratiev,Valery E. Lobanov,A. V. Cherenkov,Andrey S. Voloshin,Nikolay Pavlov,S. Koptyaev,Michael L. Gorodetsky +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the analysis of the self-injection locking of a single-frequency laser diode to a high-Q whispering gallery mode (WGM) microresonator with Rayleigh backscattering is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Soliton dual frequency combs in crystalline microresonators.
Nikolay Pavlov,G. Lihachev,S. Koptyaev,Erwan Lucas,Maxim Karpov,Nikita M. Kondratiev,I. A. Bilenko,Tobias J. Kippenberg,Michael L. Gorodetsky +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a compact dual-comb source based on a monolithic optical crystalline MgF2 multi-resonator stack is presented. But the system is not suitable for coherent LIDAR applications.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spectrum collapse, narrow linewidth, and Bogatov effect in diode lasers locked to high-Q optical microresonators
Ramzil R. Galiev,Nikolay Pavlov,Nikita M. Kondratiev,S. Koptyaev,Valery E. Lobanov,Andrey S. Voloshin,A. S. Gorodnitskiy,Michael L. Gorodetsky +7 more
TL;DR: A novel method allowing high-power single-frequency emission with sub-kHz linewidth from a compact multi-frequency diode laser locked to high-Q optical microresonator is presented and accurate analytical estimations for the parameters critical for the considered effect were obtained.
Journal ArticleDOI
Billion Q-factor in silicon WGM resonators
Artem E. Shitikov,I. A. Bilenko,Nikita M. Kondratiev,Valery E. Lobanov,A. S. Markosyan,Michael L. Gorodetsky +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the first time measurement of a Q-factor of 1.2×109 in millimeter scale crystalline silicon optical resonators at 1550nm wavelength was reported.
