Book ChapterDOI

Intrinsic disorder associated with 14-3-3 proteins and their partners.

TL;DR: Approaches that, in the future, may help minimize the disproportion between the large amount of known 14-3-3 partners and the small number of 14- 3-3 complexes characterized with atomic precision, are discussed, to unleash the whole potential of 16-2-3 PPIs as drug targets.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microalgal protein AstaP is a potent carotenoid solubilizer and delivery module with a broad carotenoid binding repertoire.

TL;DR: AstaP as discussed by the authors is an efficient carotenoid solubilizer that can stably bind not only astaxanthin but also zeaxanthins, canthaxanthinis, and β-carotene, making it an especially attractive antioxidant delivery module.
Journal ArticleDOI

New 20-hydroxycholesterol-like compounds with fluorescent NBD or alkyne labels: Synthesis, in silico interactions with proteins and uptake by yeast cells.

TL;DR: Three new 20-hydroxycholesterol-like pregn-5-en-3β-ol derivatives with fluorescent 7-nitrobenzofurazan (NBD) or Raman-sensitive alkyne labels in their side-chains are synthesized and found good predicted membrane permeability and binding to some yeast proteins, and tested the compounds on microorganisms.
