New species and records of Coryneum from China.

TL;DR: A phylogenetic analysis of a combined sequence matrix containing the ITS-28S rDNA, the translation elongation factor 1-α (TEF1α), and the second largest subunit of the RNA polymerase II (RPB2) of the four Chinese and four additional European Coryneum species was performed, confirming the distinctness of these novel species.
Journal ArticleDOI

Two novel species of Cryphonectria from Quercus in China

TL;DR: This is the first study that has established the Cryphonectria species associated with oak canker in China using a multiphasic approach and introduces two novel species with orange stromata based on multigene sequence analyses.
Journal ArticleDOI

Arthrinium trachycarpum sp. nov. from Trachycarpus fortunei in China

TL;DR: In present study, Arthrinium strains were obtained from diseased branches of Trachycarpus fortunei, and were compared with known species based on morphological characteristics and DNA sequence data, which led to the introduction of Arthrine sp.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gnomoniopsis chinensis (Gnomoniaceae, Diaporthales), a new fungus causing canker of Chinese chestnut in Hebei Province, China

TL;DR: The inoculation results showed that Gnomoniopsis chinensis is mildly pathogenic to Chinese chestnut, however, further studies are required to confirm its pathogenicity to the other cultivated Castanea species in America, Europe and Japan.
