Journal ArticleDOI

Wave Interactions with Perforated Breakwater

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe a theoretical analysis and an associated numerical model used to assess the performance of a breakwater consisting of a perforated front wall, an impermeable back wall, and a rock-filled core.
Journal ArticleDOI

Combined wave – iceberg loading on offshore structures

TL;DR: The Canadian Standards Association has developed and published a code for the design and construction of fixed offshore structures as mentioned in this paper, which has been subjected to a comprehensive verification procedure and has been validated by the CSA.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Modeling tsunami and resonance response of alberni inlet, british columbia

TL;DR: In this article, a computational model was developed using MIKE21-FM to simulate tsunami and resonance response of Alberni Inlet in British Columbia, where the maximum amplification at the head of the inlet occurs at an excitation period of about 140 minutes.
Journal Article

Assessment of the Wave-Iceberg Load Combination Factor

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the sensitivity of the load combination factor to various iceberg and wave parameters typical of three sites off the East Coast of Newfoundland, and found that the load factor is most sensitive to the wave angle relative to the current direction, and the wave climate during the iceberg season.
Journal ArticleDOI

Development of a net pen system for aquaculture farming

TL;DR: A new net pen system which has been developed for aquaculture farming at exposed coastal sites, based on the use of spar buoys rather than rigid floats to support the net, is verified.
