TL;DR: The measurements made across Europe following the releases from the Fukushima NPP reactors have provided a significant amount of new data on the ratio of the gaseous ( 131)I fraction to total (131)I, both on a spatial scale and its temporal variation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of 131I transfer in the environment based on the available measurements made in Belarus after the Chernobyl accident.
Victor Minenko,Tatiana Kukhta,Sergey Trofimik,O. Zhukova,Marina Podgaiskaya,Kiryl Viarenich,André Bouville,Vladimir Drozdovitch +7 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors evaluated the 131I transfer from ground deposition to the human thyroid gland after the Chernobyl accident using measurements of 131I concentrations in 1,252 soil, 124 grass, and 136 cow's milk samples as well as 131I thyroid activity measured in 3,100 individuals included in the Belarusian-American cohort.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative analysis of the results of simulation of the consequences of a serious accident at a Belarusian NPP with the use of J-RODOS and RECASSEXPRESS software complexes
TL;DR: In this article , the authors used the J-RodOS and RECASS-EXPRESS software packages to model the radiological and radiation-ecological consequences of a severe beyond design basis accident at the power unit of the Belarusian NPP with a VVER-1200 reactor.
