Journal ArticleDOI
A meta-analysis of thoracic radiotherapy for small-cell lung cancer.
Jean Pierre Pignon,Rodrigo Arriagada,Daniel C. Ihde,David H. Johnson,Michael C. Perry,Robert L. Souhami,Ola Brodin,Rudolf A. Joss,Merrill S. Kies,Bernard Lebeau,Taisuke Onoshi,Kell Østerlind,Martin H.N. Tattersall,Henry Wagner +13 more
TL;DR: Thoracic radiotherapy moderately improves survival in patients with limited small-cell lung cancer who are treated with combination chemotherapy, and identification of the optimal combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy will require further trials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anxiety and Cancer-Related Worry of Cancer Patients at Routine Follow-up Visits
TL;DR: Those who recently terminated treatment reported more overall distress than patients two or more years since treatment termination and those in remission reported higher levels of cancer-related worry concerning the follow-up visit.
Journal Article
Basic fibroblast growth factor and vascular endothelial growth factor in sera from non-small cell lung cancer patients.
D. Brattström,Michael Bergqvist,Anders Larsson,J Holmertz,Patrik Hesselius,L Rosenberg,Ola Brodin,Gunnar Wagenius +7 more
TL;DR: Elevated levels of bFGF is a good prognostic factor when measured in sera from NSCLC patients, which disagrees with earlier studies on other malignancies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Coping, psychosocial well-being and anxiety in cancer patients at follow-up visits
TL;DR: In a follow-up visit, patients with a "dismal" prognosis were found to have higher levels of "Helplessness/Hopelessness" than those with a more favorable prognosis, while high levels of 'Fighting Spirit' and 'Fatalistic' were associated with high psychosocial well-being as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Elevated preoperative serum levels of angiogenic cytokines correlate to larger primary tumours and poorer survival in non-small cell lung cancer patients.
Daniel Brattström,Michael Bergqvist,P Hesselius,Anders Larsson,Kristina Lamberg,Johan Wernlund,Ola Brodin,Gunnar Wagenius +7 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that elevated circulating angiogenic cytokines correlate with tumour volume, higher relapse risk and poorer survival in patients with operable non-small cell lung cancer.
