The Step-Harmonic Potential
TL;DR: In this article, the behavior of a quantum system described by a one-dimensional asymmetric potential consisting of a step plus a harmonic barrier is analyzed, and the eigenvalue equation is solved by the integral representation method, which allows to classify the independent solutions as equivalence classes of homotopic paths in the complex plane.
Book ChapterDOI
The Universe in Expansion
TL;DR: In this article, the geometric basis of cosmology and the expansion of the universe is introduced, and a part from the technical treatment, historical, theological and mythological introductions to cosmology can be found in Ryden (Introduction to Cosmology, Addison-Wesley, San Francisco, 244 p 2003) and Bonometto (Cosmologia & Cosmologie, Zanichelli 2008).
Journal ArticleDOI
Does Chaplygin gas have salvation
TL;DR: In this article, the generalised Chaplygin gas model has been investigated and a tension between background kinematic tests and those related to the evolution of small perturbations has been identified.
Journal ArticleDOI
Introducing quantum effects in classical theories
Júlio C. Fabris,Oliver F. Piattella,Denis C. Rodrigues,Bertrand Chauvineau,Mahamadou H. Daouda +4 more
TL;DR: In this paper, two different ways of implementing quantum effects in a classical structure are explored, one through an external field and the other one through modifying the classical conservation laws, and the consequences for the description of the evolution of the universe are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bouncing and Cyclic Quantum Primordial Universes and the Ordering Problem
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigate quantum effects on the evolution of the primordial universe arising from the adoption of an alternative non-trivial ordering to the quantization of the constrained Hamiltonian of a minimally coupled scalar field.
