Three-dimensional nanomagnetism
Amalio Fernández-Pacheco,Robert Streubel,Olivier Fruchart,Riccardo Hertel,Peter Fischer,Peter Fischer,Russell P. Cowburn +6 more
TL;DR: This work reviews the creation of three-dimensional nanomagnets and their implications for the emergence of new physics, the development of instrumentation and computational methods, and exploitation in numerous applications.
Journal ArticleDOI
Real-Time Monitoring of Growing Nanoparticles
Gilles Renaud,Rémi Lazzari,C. Revenant,Antoine Barbier,M. Noblet,O. Ulrich,Frédéric Leroy,Jacques Jupille,Yves Borensztein,Claude Henry,J.P. Deville,Fabrice Scheurer,Jeannot Mane-Mane,Olivier Fruchart +13 more
TL;DR: A dedicated ultrahigh-vacuum grazing-incidence small-angle x-ray scattering setup has been developed, yielding high sensitivity and dynamics and its capabilities to derive the average particle shape and size and the film growth mode and ordering are illustrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Observation of Bloch-point domain walls in cylindrical magnetic nanowires
S. Da Col,S. Da Col,Ségolène Jamet,Ségolène Jamet,Nicolas Rougemaille,Nicolas Rougemaille,Andrea Locatelli,Tevfik Onur Menteş,B. Santos Burgos,Raja Afid,Raja Afid,Michaël Darques,Michaël Darques,Laurent Cagnon,Laurent Cagnon,Jean-Christophe Toussaint,Jean-Christophe Toussaint,Olivier Fruchart,Olivier Fruchart +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the existence of the simplest magnetization texture holding a Bloch point at rest in cylindrical magnetic nanowires was confirmed by combining surface and transmission x-ray magnetic circular dichroism photoemission electron microscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Artificial Kagome Arrays of Nanomagnets: A Frozen Dipolar Spin Ice
Nicolas Rougemaille,François Montaigne,Benjamin Canals,A. Duluard,Daniel Lacour,Michel Hehn,R. Belkhou,Olivier Fruchart,S. El Moussaoui,A. Bendounan,F. Maccherozzi +10 more
TL;DR: Magnetic frustration effects in artificial kagome arrays of nanomagnets are investigated using x-ray photoemission electron microscopy and Monte Carlo simulations to reveal unambiguous signatures of long range, dipolar interaction between the nanomMagnets.
Journal ArticleDOI
Self-Organized Growth of Nanosized Vertical Magnetic Co Pillars on Au(111)
TL;DR: In this article, a self-organized array of flat Co dots on Au(111) was extended to fabricate Co pillars with a 2:1 vertical aspect ratio, and the superparamagnetic blocking temperature was 300 K in the pillars, whereas it was only 20 K in conventional flat dots with the same lateral density.
