Review of 62 risk analysis methodologies of industrial plants

TL;DR: In this paper, 62 risk analysis methodologies have been identified, these are separated into three different phases (identification, evaluation, and hierarchisation) in order to understand their running, it seems necessary to examine the input data, methods used, obtained output data and rank them in several classes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Environmental vulnerability assessment in the vicinity of an industrial site in the frame of ARAMIS European project

TL;DR: An index is defined which consists of the contribution of three terms, expressing the severity of the scenario consequences, the efficiency of the safety management and the vulnerability of the surrounding environment, and is an operational tool allowing competent authorities, industrialists and risk experts to assess theulnerability of the area surrounding an industrial site.
Journal ArticleDOI

Risk assessment and risk decision-making process related to hazardous installation in France

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the risk assessment approach need in France for licensing hazardous installations, in particular those covered by the Seveso II Directive and the implication for land-use planning.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ammonia large scale atmospheric dispersion experiments in industrial configurations

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of large-scale experiments for atmospheric dispersion was carried out by INERIS over a period extending from December 1996 to April 1997, with the objectives of the test campaign were to measure anhydrous ammonia concentrations in a range of few meters to 2 kilometers from the release, in order to generate data to be used to improve 2-phase discharge and dispersion modelling.
Journal ArticleDOI

Toward an integrative approach of the industrial risk management process in France

TL;DR: In this paper, an analysis on the difficulty to control major accident hazards in an evolving context where the industrial systems becomes more and more complex and where the expectations of the civil society has increased.
