Journal ArticleDOI
Identificacion of MRI-based psychosis subtypes: Replication and refinement
Álvaro Planchuelo-Gómez,Alba Lubeiro,Pablo Núñez-Novo,Javier Gomez-Pilar,Rodrigo de Luis-García,Pilar del Valle,Oscar Martín-Santiago,Adela Pérez-Escudero,Vicente Molina,Vicente Molina +9 more
TL;DR: The data give additional support to a distinct biologically based cluster encompassing schizophrenia and bipolar disorder patients with cortical and subcortical alterations, hampered cortical connectivity and lower cognitive performance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neurobiological underpinnings of cognitive subtypes in psychoses: A cross-diagnostic cluster analysis
Inés Fernández-Linsenbarth,Álvaro Planchuelo-Gómez,Álvaro Díez,Antonio Arjona-Valladares,Rodrigo de Luis,Oscar Martín-Santiago,José Antonio Benito-Sánchez,Ángela Pérez-Laureano,David González-Parra,Carmen Montes-Gonzalo,Raquel Melero-Lerma,Sonia Fernández Morante,Javier Sanz-Fuentenebro,Javier Gomez-Pilar,Pablo Núñez-Novo,Vicente Molina,Vicente Molina +16 more
TL;DR: This study supports the existence of different cognitive subgroups within the psychoses with different neurobiological underpinnings as well as its relation with demographic, clinical and biological measurements.
Journal ArticleDOI
Deficits of entropy modulation of the EEG: A biomarker for altered function in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder?
Vicente Molina,Alba Lubeiro,Rodrigo de Luis Garcia,Javier Gomez-Pilar,Oscar Martín-Santiago,María Iglesias-Tejedor,Pedro Holgado-Madera,Rafael Segarra-Echeverría,María Recio-Barbero,Pablo Núñez,Mahmoud Karim Haidar,Jessica Fernández-Sevillano,Javier Sanz-Fuentenebro +12 more
TL;DR: Spectral entropy modulation with task performance is decreased in patients with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, which might reflect a deficit in the synchronization of the neural assemblies that underlie cognitive activity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association between EEG modulation, psychotic-like experiences and cognitive performance in the general population.
Javier Gomez-Pilar,Oscar Martín-Santiago,Vanessa Suazo,Sonia Ruiz de Azúa,Mahmoud Karim Haidar,Ricardo Gallardo,Jesús Poza,Jesús Poza,Roberto Hornero,Vicente Molina,Vicente Molina +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors explored the relationship between psychotic-like experiences and EEG modulation in the general population and found that EEG irregularity of healthy subjects decreased at the expense of a larger contribution of theta RP and a decreased contribution of fast frequency bands, supporting an increase in EEG regularity and a slowing of brain oscillations during the response.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relationship between subclinical psychotic symptoms and cognitive performance in the general population
Oscar Martín-Santiago,Vanessa Suazo,Alberto Rodríguez-Lorenzana,Sonia Ruiz de Azúa,César Valcárcel,Álvaro Díez,Adriana Grau,Cristina Domínguez,Ricardo Gallardo,Vicente Molina +9 more
TL;DR: Psychotic symptoms, similar to those in the clinical population, may be associated with cognitive deficits in the general population.
