Ammonia removal by air stripping in a semi-batch jet loop reactor

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effect of air stripping from synthetically prepared ammonia solution at the high pH in a semi-batch JLR and found that increasing temperature and air flow rate have a very significant effect on the overall volumetric mass transfer coefficients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Determination of the Optimum Conditions for Leaching of Malachite Ore in H2SO4 Solutions

TL;DR: In this paper, the Taguchi method has been used to determine the optimum conditions for the dissolution of malachite ore in H2SO4 solutions, and the chosen experimental parameters and their range were (i) reaction temperature: 15 to 45 °C, (ii) solid-to-liquid ratio: 1/10 to 1/3 g cm-3, (iii) acid concentration (in weight): 2 % to 10 %, particle size: –40 to 3.5 mesh, (iv) stirring speed: 240 to 720 rpm, and (vi) reaction time
Journal ArticleDOI

Determination of the Optimum Conditions for Boric Acid Extraction with Carbon Dioxide Gas in Aqueous Media from Colemanite Containing Arsenic

TL;DR: In this paper, the Taguchi method was used to determine optimum conditions for the boric acid extraction from colemanite ore containing As in aqueous media saturated by CO{sub 2} gas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Modelling of copper ion transport through supported liquid membrane containing LIX 984

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors derived a transport rate model taking into account diffusion through an aqueous feed boundary layer, diffusion of carrier-copper complex through supported liquid membrane, and diffusion through aaqueous strip boundary layer as simultaneous controlling factors, and the results showed that Cd2+, Zn2+, Co2+, and Ni2+ ions were not transported in the pH range 1-5 studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Modelling of zinc transport through a supported liquid membrane

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of temperature, rate of feed and stripping phase and concentration of stripping phase on the mass transfer coefficients of aqueous boundary layers and membrane were studied.
