TL;DR: Multivariate analysis showed that maternal representation and depression at third trimester predicted mother-infant interaction and medical efforts should be directed to minimize as much as possible such false diagnoses, and to limit their psychological adverse consequences.

Mother and infant affective involvement states and maternal depression

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors found that children are more inclined to develop an insecure attachment to their stressed depressed mothers, while children of slow depressed mothers are more insecure avoiding, and that the dimensions of maternal depression can be an indicator of the type of insecure attachment of the infant at one year of age.
