Optical absorption parameters of amorphous carbon films from Forouhi–Bloomer and Tauc–Lorentz models: a comparative study
TL;DR: In this article, Tauc-Lorentz (TL), Forouhi-Bloomer (FB) and modified FB models were applied to the interband absorption of amorphous carbon films.
Journal ArticleDOI
Optical properties of Ga monocrystal in the 0.3-5-eV range
TL;DR: In this article, the optical constants relative to each crystallographic axis of Ga monocrystals in the range 0.3-5 eV have been determined from reflectance measurements at normal incidence with the light being polarized parallel to each axis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Vapor-liquid-solid mechanisms: Challenges for nanosized quantum cluster/dot/wire materials
TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of the size of the metallic nanocluster starting point, referred to later as the size effect, was studied. And the authors described this effect as that of a cooking machine when the number of atoms decreases from ∼1023at.∕cm3 for a bulk material to a few tens of them in a 1-2nm...
Journal ArticleDOI
A Direct Observation of Low-Dimensional Effects on Melting of Small Lead Particles
TL;DR: In this paper, the melting of small lead particles embedded in a silicon monoxide matrix has been studied by dark-field electron microscopy and it was shown that the width of the molten layer depends on the particle curvature as well as on temperature indicating a continuous transition.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anisotropic surface effects in Au and Cu monocrystals
TL;DR: In this paper, the electroreflectance spectra at normal incidence of (100 and (110) faces of gold and copper monocrystals are given, in the spectral range from 0.22 to 0.7 μm.
