Journal ArticleDOI
Superior ex vivo cord blood expansion following co-culture with bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells.
Simon N. Robinson,Jingjing Ng,Ting Niu,H. Yang,John McMannis,S. Karandish,Indreshpaul Kaur,P. Fu,M. Del Angel,R. Messinger,F. Flagge,M. de Lima,William K. Decker,Dongxia Xing,Richard E. Champlin,Elizabeth J. Shpall +15 more
TL;DR: When compared to liquid culture, CB-MSC co-culture required less cell manipulation resulting in less initial HPC loss and markedly improved TNC and HPC output and holds promise for improving engraftment kinetics in CB transplant recipients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ex vivo expansion of umbilical cord blood
Simon N. Robinson,Ting Niu,M. de Lima,Jingjing Ng,H. Yang,John McMannis,S. Karandish,Tara Sadeghi,P. Fu,M. de Angel,Sean L. O'Connor,Richard E. Champlin,Elizabeth J. Shpall +12 more
TL;DR: The goal of ex vivo expansion is to increase the available dose of the CB cells responsible for successful engraftment, thereby reducing the time toEngraftment and reducing the risk of graft failure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Superior EX vivo cord blood TNC and hematopoietic progenitor cell expansion following co-culture with bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells
Simon N. Robinson,Jingjing Ng,Ting Niu,H. Yang,John McMannis,S. Karandish,Indreshpaul Kaur,P. Fu,M. Del Angel,R. Messinger,F. Flagge,M. de Lima,William K. Decker,Dongxia Xing,Richard E. Champlin,Elizabeth J. Shpall +15 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Phase I study of intra-osseous co-transplantation of a single-unit cord blood and mesenchymal stromal cells with reduced intensity conditioning regimens
Jiasheng Wang,Farhad Sanati,Amin Firoozmand,P. Fu,Merle Kolk,Jane Reese-Koc,Marcos de Lima,Kirsten M Boughan,Brenda W. Cooper,Paolo Caimi,Molly Gallogly,Folashade Otegbeye,Benjamin Tomlinson,Leland Metheny +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors combined a single-unit Cord Blood (CB) with third-party healthy donors' bone marrow derived mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) to improve engraftment and injected intra-osseously (IO) to enhance homing.
