High rates of virological failure and drug resistance in perinatally HIV-1-infected children and adolescents receiving lifelong antiretroviral therapy in routine clinics in Togo.
Mounerou Salou,Anoumou Y. Dagnra,Christelle Butel,Nicole Vidal,Laetitia Serrano,Elom Takassi,Abla A. Konou,Spero Houndenou,Nina Dapam,Assetina Singo-Tokofaï,Palokinam Pitché,Yao Dzayisse Atakouma,Mireille Prince-David,Eric Delaporte,Martine Peeters +14 more
TL;DR: Salou et al. as mentioned in this paper determined virological outcome in perinatally HIV-1-infected children and adolescents receiving ART in Togo, where the median duration on ART was 48 months (interquartile range: 28 to 68 months).
Journal ArticleDOI
High prevalence of HIV-1 drug resistance among patients on first-line antiretroviral treatment in Lomé, Togo
Anoumou Y. Dagnra,Nicole Vidal,Akovi Mensah,Akouda Patassi,Komi Aho,Mounerou Salou,Marjorie Monleau,Mireille Prince-David,Assétina Singo,Palokinam Pitché,Eric Delaporte,Martine Peeters +11 more
TL;DR: The high number of resistant strains observed in Togo shows clearly that the emergence of HIV drug resistance is of increasing concern in countries where ART is now widely used, and can compromise the long-term success of first- and second-line ART.
Journal ArticleDOI
Predictors of adherence to antiretroviral therapy among people living with HIV and AIDS at the regional hospital of Sokodé, Togo
Issifou Yaya,Dadja Essoya Landoh,Bayaki Saka,P’Niwè Massoubayo Patchali,Peter Wasswa,Abdoul-samadou Aboubakari,Mathias Kouamé N’Dri,Akouda Patassi,Koussake Kombaté,Palokinam Pitché +9 more
TL;DR: The level of adherence to ART among Persons Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in this study was higher than those reported in some studies in Sub-Saharan Africa, but remains sub-optimal and needs improvement.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cosmetic use of skin-bleaching products and associated complications
