Journal ArticleDOI
UVA-induced lipid peroxidation in cultured human fibroblasts.
TL;DR: Lipid peroxidation is supported by the inhibitory effect of D,L-alpha-tocopherol, the well-known chain breaking antioxidant, by the additional malondialdehyde formation in the dark after the photooxidative stress and by membrane damage revealed by lactate dehydrogenase leakage.
Journal ArticleDOI
The role of the low density lipoprotein receptor pathway in the delivery of lipophilic photosensitizers in the photodynamic therapy of tumours.
TL;DR: The use of the LDL receptor pathway as a tool for enhancing the selectivity of photosensitizer delivery to tumour cells appears to be a promising field of research in the photodynamic therapy of tumours as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interaction of human serum low density lipoproteins with porphyrins: a spectroscopic and photochemical study
J. P. Reyftmann,Patrice Morlière,S. Goldstein,René Santus,Louis Dubertret,Dominique Lagrange +5 more
TL;DR: It can be concluded that hydrophobic porphyrins bind to blood proteins in patients suffering from protoporphyria.
Journal ArticleDOI
High extracellular inorganic phosphate concentration inhibits RANK-RANKL signaling in osteoclast-like cells.
Anaïs Mozar,Nathalie Haren,Nathalie Haren,Maud Chasseraud,Maud Chasseraud,Loïc Louvet,Loïc Louvet,Cécile Mazière,Cécile Mazière,Alice Wattel,Alice Wattel,Romuald Mentaverri,Romuald Mentaverri,Patrice Morlière,Said Kamel,Said Kamel,Michel Brazier,Michel Brazier,Jean Claude Maziere,Jean Claude Maziere,Ziad A. Massy,Ziad A. Massy +21 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that Pi downregulates the differentiation of osteoclasts via a negative feedback exerted on RANK–RANKL signaling, and reduces the RANKL‐stimulated DNA‐binding activity of NF‐κB.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ultraviolet A-induced lipid peroxidation and antioxidant defense systems in cultured human skin fibroblasts.
TL;DR: The sensitivity of human fibroblasts to UVA-induced lipid peroxidation depends on a balance between SOD and Cat activities, and it is suggested that H2O2, arising from O2- dismutation by SOD is not completely removed by Cat.
