The Phytotoxin Coronatine and Methyl Jasmonate Impact Multiple Phytohormone Pathways in Tomato
Srinivasa Rao Uppalapati,Patricia Ayoubi,Hua Weng,Douglas K. Palmer,Robin E. Mitchell,William T. Jones,Carol L. Bender +6 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that conjugation of CFA to an amino acid is required for optimal activity in tomato, including chlorosis, changes in chloroplast structure, cell wall thickening, accumulation of proteinase inhibitors, induction of anthocyanins, and root growth inhibition.
Journal ArticleDOI
A genomics approach towards salt stress tolerance
Hans J. Bohnert,Patricia Ayoubi,Chris Borchert,Ray A. Bressan,Robert L. Burnap,John C. Cushman,Mary Ann Cushman,Michael K. Deyholos,Robert E. Fischer,David W. Galbraith,Paul M. Hasegawa,Matthew A. Jenks,Shinji Kawasaki,Hisashi Koiwa,Shin Kore-eda,Byeong-ha Lee,Chris B. Michalowski,Eduardo A. Misawa,Mika Nomura,Neslihan Z. Ozturk,Bradley L. Postier,Rolf A. Prade,Chun Peng Song,Yuko Tanaka,Hong Wang,Jian-Kang Zhu +25 more
TL;DR: This work focuses on gene expression analysis following exposure of plants to high salinity, using salt-shock experiments to mimic stresses that affect hydration and ion homeostasis and generates insertional mutants that affect stress tolerance in several organisms.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of expression profiles of sorghum genes in response to greenbug phloem-feeding using cDNA subtraction and microarray analysis
TL;DR: The profiles of sorghum genes, responsive to greenbug phloem-feeding shared common identities with other expression profiles known to be elicited by diverse stresses, including pathogenesis, abiotic stress, and wounding.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pectins, pectinases and plant-microbe interactions.
TL;DR: Pectins, Pectinases and Plant-Microbe Interactions: Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Reviews: Vol.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of oxidative signalling induced by ozone in Arabidopsis thaliana
Ramamurthy Mahalingam,Niranjani Jambunathan,Samir Gunjan,Enock Faustin,Hua Weng,Patricia Ayoubi +5 more
TL;DR: Analysis of cis elements in the promoters of ozone-responsive genes also supports the view that phytohormones play a significant role in ozone-induced cell death, and an analysis of antioxidant levels showed that both ascorbate and glutathione were at their lowest levels, when ROS levels were high on ozone-stressed plants.
