Journal ArticleDOI
Water Content in Biodiesel, Diesel, and Biodiesel–Diesel Blends
Patricia Bogalhos Lucente Fregolente,Leonardo Vasconcelos Fregolente,Maria Regina Wolf Maciel +2 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the water absorbance of biodiesel and biodiesel-diesel fuel blends evaluating the temperature and blend ratio parameters was determined through experiments and experiments were conducted to determine the water absorption.
Journal ArticleDOI
Monoglyceride and Diglyceride Production Through Lipase-Catalyzed Glycerolysis and Molecular Distillation
Patricia Bogalhos Lucente Fregolente,Glaucia Maria Ferreira Pinto,M.R. Wolf-Maciel,Rubens Maciel Filho +3 more
TL;DR: In this work, monoglycerides (MG) and diglycerides (DG) are produced through lipase-catalyzed glycerolysis of soybean oil using Candida antarctica B in a solvent-free system to preserve the stability of the components and to keep the products free of inappropriate solvents.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Operating Conditions on the Concentration of Monoglycerides Using Molecular Distillation
Leonardo Vasconcelos Fregolente,Patricia Bogalhos Lucente Fregolente,A.M. Chicuta,César Benedito Batistella,R. Maciel Filho,M.R. Wolf-Maciel +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of operating conditions on the monoglycerides concentration using molecular distillation (MD) process in laboratory scale was investigated using one-factor-at-a-time experiments and factorial design.
Journal ArticleDOI
Monoglycerides and Diglycerides Synthesis in a Solvent-Free System by Lipase-Catalyzed Glycerolysis
Patricia Bogalhos Lucente Fregolente,Leonardo Vasconcelos Fregolente,Glaucia Maria Ferreira Pinto,Benedito César Batistella,M.R. Wolf-Maciel,Rubens Maciel Filho +5 more
TL;DR: Five lipases were screened to study their ability to produce monoglycerides and diglycerides through enzymatic glycerolysis of soybean oil and found the best DG and MG productions were in the range 45–48% and 28–30% (w/w, based on the total oil), respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Removal of water content from biodiesel and diesel fuel using hydrogel adsorbents
TL;DR: In this paper, hydrophilic hydrogels were employed to remove the water content in biodiesel and diesel fuel samples, starting with samples that had 2160 ppm and 240 ppm of water, respectively.
