Chronic delta 9-tetrahydrocannabinol during adolescence provokes sex-dependent changes in the emotional profile in adult rats: behavioral and biochemical correlates.

TL;DR: The results suggest that heavy cannabis consumption in adolescence may induce subtle alterations in the emotional circuit in female rats, ending in depressive-like behavior, whereas male rats show altered sensitivity to rewarding stimuli.
Journal ArticleDOI

Substance P is diminished and vasoactive intestinal peptide is augmented in psoriatic lesions and these peptides exert disparate effects on the proliferation of cultured human keratinocytes.

TL;DR: The imbalance of cutaneous VIP and SP and their disparate effects on the proliferation of normal human keratinocytes in culture would suggest that these peptides are involved in the pathogenesis of psoriasis and may exert different modulatory activities in the mechanisms underlying the psoriatic lesion.
Journal ArticleDOI

Blockade of Nociceptin/Orphanin FQ Transmission Attenuates Symptoms and Neurodegeneration Associated with Parkinson's Disease

TL;DR: Evidence suggesting that endogenous N/OFQ may contribute to Parkinson's disease is presented and it is proposed that NOP receptor antagonists may represent a novel approach for combined (symptomatic and neuroprotective) therapy of Parkinson’s disease.
