Journal ArticleDOI
Were Notosuchia (Pseudosuchia: Crocodylomorpha) warm-blooded? A palaeohistological analysis suggests ectothermy
Jorge Cubo,Mariana Valéria de Araújo Sena,Paul Aubier,Guillaume Houee,Penelope Claisse,Mathieu G Faure-Brac,Ronan Allain,Rafael César Lima Pedroso de Andrade,Juliana M. Sayão,Gustavo R. Oliveira +9 more
TL;DR: Analysis of quantitative bone palaeohistology and phylogenetic eigenvector maps suggest that the seven species of Notosuchia sampled in this study were ectotherms, and parsimony suggests that endothermy may have been lost at the node Metasuchia (Notosuchian–Neosuchio) by the Early Jurassic.
Journal ArticleDOI
Paleohistological inferences of thermometabolic regimes in Notosuchia (Pseudosuchia: Crocodylomorpha) revisited
Jorge Cubo,Paul Aubier,Mathieu G Faure-Brac,Gaspard Martet,Romain Pellarin,Idriss Pelletan,Mariana Valéria de Araújo Sena +6 more
TL;DR: Analysis of Notosuchia using phylogenetic logistic regressions and phylogenetic eigenvector maps suggests that Araripesuchus wegeneri, Armadillosuchus arrudai, Baurusuchus sp.
Journal ArticleDOI
Osteohistological characterization of notosuchian osteoderms: Evidence for an overlying thick leathery layer of skin
Mariana Valéria de Araújo Sena,Thiago da Silva Marinho,Felipe C. Montefeltro,Max C. Langer,Thiago Schineider Fachini,William R. Nava,André E. P. Pinheiro,Esaú Victor Araújo,Paul Aubier,Rafael César Lima Pedroso de Andrade,Juliana M. Sayão,Gustavo R. Oliveira,Jorge Cubo +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the osteoderm histology of Brazilian Notosuchia of Cretaceous age using three neosuchians for comparative purposes was compared using microanatomical analyses.
Journal ArticleDOI
Phylogenetic structure of the extinction and biotic factors explaining differential survival of terrestrial notosuchians at the Cretaceous–Palaeogene crisis
TL;DR: In this article , the effect of body size and palaeotemperatures on notosuchian survival probability during the Cretaceous-Palaeogene (K-Pg) crisis of Crocodylomorpha was investigated.
