Journal ArticleDOI
Inkjet printed and "doctor blade" TiO2 photodetectors for DNA biosensors.
I. Bernacka-Wojcik,Rohan Senadeera,Paweł Wójcik,L.B. Silva,Gonçalo Doria,Pedro V. Baptista,Hugo Águas,Elvira Fortunato,Rodrigo Martins +8 more
TL;DR: A dye sensitized TiO(2) photodetector has been integrated with a DNA detection method based on non-cross-linking hybridization of DNA-functionalized gold nanoparticles, resulting in a disposable colorimetric biosensor, comparable to those of spectrophotometric techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microstructure control of dual-phase inkjet-printed a-WO3/TiO2/WOX films for high-performance electrochromic applications
TL;DR: In this paper, a dual-phase a-WO3/TiO2/WOX film composition was proposed for high performance electrochromic (EC) applications, and the effect of the type and content of metal oxide nanoparticles in the precursor sols formulated in various peroxopolytungstic acid (PTA) and oxalic acid (OAD) proportions on film properties was comprehensively studied using multi-factorial design of experiment (DOE).
Journal ArticleDOI
Structure and Morphologic Influence of WO3 Nanoparticles on the Electrochromic Performance of Dual-Phase a-WO3/WO3 Inkjet Printed Films
Lídia Santos,Paweł Wójcik,Joana V. Pinto,Elamurugu Elangovan,Jaime Viegas,Luís Pereira,Rodrigo Martins,Elvira Fortunato +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the optimization of tungsten trioxide (WO3) nanoparticles produced via hydrothermal synthesis for application in electrochromic (EC) devices is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bio-microfluidic platform for gold nanoprobe based DNA detection--application to Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
I. Bernacka-Wojcik,Paulo Lopes,Ana Catarina Vaz,Bruno Veigas,Paweł Wójcik,Pedro Simões,David Barata,Elvira Fortunato,Pedro V. Baptista,Hugo Águas,Rodrigo Martins +10 more
TL;DR: The best biochip configuration has been successfully applied to the DNA detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis using only 3 µl on DNA solution, therefore a 20-fold reduction of reagents volume is obtained when compared with the actual state of the art.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tailoring nanoscale properties of tungsten oxide for inkjet printed electrochromic devices.
TL;DR: In the present study inkjet printable nanostructured tungsten oxide particles were successfully synthesized via hydrothermal processes using pure or acidified aqueous sol-gel precursors and the structure and morphology of the nanoparticles were tailored to ensure the desired printability and electrochromic performance.
