TL;DR: The Clear-PEM scanner for positron emission mammography under development is described in this paper, which is based on pixelized LYSO crystals optically coupled to avalanche photodiodes and readout by a fast low-noise electronic system.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
FlexToT - Current mode ASIC for readout of common cathode SiPM arrays
A. Comerma,David Gascon,Lluis Freixas,Lluis Garrido,Ricardo Graciani,J. Marín,German Martinez,Jose Manuel Perez,Pedro Rato Mendes,Javier Castilla,Jose M. Cela,J M Fernández-Varea,I. Sarasola +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a front-end application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) for the readout of common cathode Silicon Photo-Multiers arrays is presented with the following features: wide dynamic range, high speed, multi channel, low input impedance current amplifier, low power (≈10mW per channel), common cathodes connection, directly coupled input with common mode voltage control and separated timing and charge signal output.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Design and evaluation of the clear-PEM detector for positron emission mammography
Ana Santos,Pedro Almeida,M.V. Martins,Nuno Matela,Nuno Oliveira,Nuno Ferreira,Janaina Marques de Aguiar,F. G. Almeida,F. Lopes,José Paulo Sampaio,P. Bento,F. Goncalves,C. Leong,P. Lousa,Luan F. F. Ribeiro,Pedro Rodrigues,João Carlos Silva,A. Trindade,Joao Varela +30 more
TL;DR: Experimental validation of the detection techniques, namely the basic properties of the radiation sensors and the ability to measure the depth-of-interaction of the incoming photons, are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
PET Demonstrator for a Human Brain Scanner Based on Monolithic Detector Blocks
I. Sarasola,Pedro Rato Mendes,P. Garcia de Acilu,M. Canadas,O. Vela,J. M. Cela,J.C. Oller,L. Nunez,Carlos Willmott,J.M. Perez +9 more
TL;DR: A PET insert for existing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment, to be installed in a collaborating hospital and used for clinical PET-MRI of the human brain is developed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization and performance of monolithic detector blocks with a dedicated ASIC front-end readout for PET imaging of the human brain
Pedro Rato Mendes,Iciar Sarasola Martin,M. Canadas,Paz García de Acilu,R Cuypers,Jose Manuel Perez,C. Willmott +6 more
TL;DR: First results on PET coincidence performance indicate spatial resolutions as good as 2.1 mm FWHM for SSRB/FBP reconstruction of tomographic data obtained using a simple PET demonstrator based on a pair of monolithic detector blocks with ASIC readout.
