Highly fluorescent carbon dots from enokitake mushroom as multi-faceted optical nanomaterials for Cr6+ and VOC detection and imaging applications
Melvin R. Pacquiao,Mark Daniel G. de Luna,Nichaphat Thongsai,Sumana Kladsomboon,Peerasak Paoprasert +4 more
TL;DR: In this article, highly fluorescent carbon dots were synthesized from enokitake mushroom via a one-step hydrothermal method in the presence of diluted sulfuric acid, and the spherical carbon dots exhibited blue photoluminescence under UV illumination and a quantum yield of 11% upon passivation with tetraethylenepentamine.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microwave-assisted synthesis of luminescent and biocompatible lysine-based carbon quantum dots
Yujin Choi,Nichaphat Thongsai,Ari Chae,Seongho Jo,Eun Bi Kang,Peerasak Paoprasert,Sung Young Park,Insik In +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the formation of lysine-based carbon quantum dots is estimated to proceed through the microwave induced thermal polyamidation and subsequent carbonization reaction, and the control experiments using the other amino acids having linear structures reveals that the branched molecular structure of Lysine is one of prerequisite points to obtain strongly luminescent carbon quantum dot with high mass yield.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adsorption of Methylene Blue dye and Cu(II) ions on EDTA-modified bentonite: Isotherm, kinetic and thermodynamic studies
Maria Leah Flor A. De Castro,Maria Leah Flor A. De Castro,Melody Love B. Abad,Divine Angela G. Sumalinog,Ralf Ruffel M. Abarca,Ralf Ruffel M. Abarca,Peerasak Paoprasert,Mark Daniel G. de Luna +7 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Transient 2D IR spectroscopy of charge injection in dye-sensitized nanocrystalline thin films.
Wei Xiong,Jennifer E. Laaser,Peerasak Paoprasert,Ryan Franking,Robert J. Hamers,Padma Gopalan,Martin T. Zanni +6 more
TL;DR: 2D IR spectroscopy is proving to be very useful in disentangling overlapping structural distributions in biological and chemical physics processes and is also a powerful new tool for studying charge transfer at interfaces.
Journal ArticleDOI
Grafting of poly(3-hexylthiophene) brushes on oxides using click chemistry
Peerasak Paoprasert,Josef W. Spalenka,Dane L. Peterson,Rose E. Ruther,Robert J. Hamers,Paul G. Evans,Padma Gopalan +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a click reaction between ethynyl-terminated poly(3-hexylthiophene) and an azide self-assembled monolayer (SAM) was used to construct poly( 3hexyl-thiophenes) brushes on silicon dioxide (SiO2).
