Journal ArticleDOI

Development of pH indicator and antimicrobial cellulose nanofibre packaging film based on purple sweet potato anthocyanin and oregano essential oil

TL;DR: The developed pH indicator and antimicrobial film could intuitively indicate the change of food quality during storage and effectively prolong food shelf life.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation of sugarcane bagasse nanocellulose hydrogel as a colourimetric freshness indicator for intelligent food packaging.

TL;DR: A new design of colourimetric freshness indicator made with a nanocellulose hydrogel has a quick response to chicken spoilage and is expected to facilitate the utilisation of bagasse nano cellulose as a value-added material in intelligent packaging.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multifunctional cellulose-based air filters with high loadings of metal–organic frameworks prepared by in situ growth method for gas adsorption and antibacterial applications

TL;DR: In this article, a biodegradable composite filters were fabricated by an in situ deposition method to isolate pollutants and inactivate bacteria, and they exhibited excellent antimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli with an inhibition zone diameter of 20.8mm.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bio-based antimicrobial packaging from sugarcane bagasse nanocellulose/nisin hybrid films

TL;DR: A nanocellulose-based hybrid film with antimicrobial properties was developed from sugarcane bagasse and nisin; it completely inhibited Listeria monocytogenes during 7 days of storage at 4 °C and is expected to expand the application of bagasse nano cellulose in active packaging for food preservation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reactive coating of soybean oil-based polymer on nanofibrillated cellulose film for water vapor barrier packaging.

TL;DR: This biodegradable polymer-coated NFC film can be used as potential packaging barrier in certain areas and was highly hydrophobic along with the improved transparency and thermal stability.
