Photocatalytic H2 Evolution Coupled with Furfuralcohol Oxidation over Pt-Modified ZnCdS Solid Solution

Construction of AgBr/BiOBr S-scheme heterojunction using ion exchange strategy for high-efficiency reduction of CO2 to CO under visible light

Surface modification of photocatalytic materials is a good choice for improving semiconductor activity. Simple surface modification strategy and abundant active site construction are the key factors to improve photocatalytic activity. Take NiAl-LDH as the matrix, perform partial phosphating, and use the spatial confinement effect to generate highly dispersed Ni2P. Ni2P does not exist independently but on the 3D NiAl-LDH's surface. The introduction of NiAl-LDH-P can improve the utilization of Zn0.5Cd0.5S on solar energy and speed up the transfer rate of photogenerated carriers. Ni2P makes the active sites of phosphide more abundant, and the unique electron distribution of phosphide is conducive to photon capture, thus accelerating the hydrogen precipitation rate in the composite photocatalyst. Partial phosphating retains the 3D framework of hydrotalcite. The well-dispersed 0D to 3D S-scheme heterojunction hybrid material is composed of three-dimensional nano-flowers and tiny nano-particles alternately formed by countless nano-sheets. The multi-dimensional structured composite photocatalyst has abundant active sites, large specific surface area, and strong proton adsorption capacity, thus exhibiting more excellent photocatalytic hydrogen evolution performance. The maximum hydrogen production of the composite photocatalyst under 5 W LED simulated visible light for 5 h can reach 1982.43 μmol (39.64 mmol g−1 h−1) and the apparent quantum efficiency reached 6.22 % at 475 nm. The construction of the Zn0.5Cd0.5S/NiAl-LDH-P S-scheme heterojunction changes the hydrogen evolution site from Zn0.5Cd0.5S to Ni2P, so that the conduction band position of the composite photocatalyst becomes higher, the reduction ability is enhanced, and the hydrogen evolution The site changed from Zn0.5Cd0.5S to Ni2P, which is more conducive to the generation of hydrogen, thereby improving the activity and stability of hydrogen production. The space design of 0D and 3D provides new thinking for the design of the closely contacted S-scheme heterojunction photocatalytic. The application of surface modification strategies and the construction of abundant active sites point out the direction for further improving the composite photocatalytic activity.

Construction of a tandem S-scheme GDY/CuI/CdS-R heterostructure based on morphology-regulated graphdiyne (g-CnH2n−2) for enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

To deal with the energy crisis brought by economic development and solve the traditional situation where only fossil fuels can be used, we prepared S‐scheme heterojunction composite photocatalyst W18O49/Mn0.2Cd0.8S for photocatalytic hydrogen production by Physical stirring method. The hydrogen production performance of composite photocatalyst W18O49/Mn0.2Cd0.8S in visible light is evaluated by a series of photocatalytic analysis and characterization methods. The results showed that the hydrogen production activity was the highest when the load ratio of W18O49 was 5 %, and the hydrogen production amount reached 268.65 μmol (5373 μmol h−1 g−1) for 5 h, which was 2.96 times of the hydrogen production amount of pure Mn0.2Cd0.8S (90.76 μmol). The results show that the improvement of hydrogen production performance is mainly due to the formation of S‐scheme heterojunction between W18O49 and Mn0.2Cd0.8S contact interface, which promotes the consumption of ineffective electrons and holes, increases the rate of charge separation and transfer, reduces the activation energy of the catalytic reaction system, and enhances the performance of photocatalytic hydrogen production. The successful completion of this work provides a new idea for the modification of Mn0.2Cd0.8S semiconductor material and improves its application in photocatalytic hydrogen production.

S-scheme W18O49/Mn0.2Cd0.8S Heterojunction for Improved Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

The imidazolium salt zeolite framework (ZIFs) organometallic framework materials have the advantages of high stability and controllable structure and are excellent materials for preparing photocatalytic semiconductors. In this study, the regular dodecahedron material ZIF‐67 was used as the substrate, and the intermediate was calcined after the substrate adsorbed Co‐based metal clusters to obtain Co3O4 with a hollow double‐shell structure. Through SEM and fluorescence detection, it can be seen that the Co3O4 material obtained by this method not only has a unique spatial morphology but also shows a strong light absorption performance and a high charge transfer rate. In addition, graphite‐like phase carbon nitride (g‐C3N4), as a traditional catalyst, has been unable to move toward industrialization due to its low electron utilization and light absorption properties. So here, the composite catalyst CNCO‐x (x = 1, 2, 2, 3, 4, and 5) was prepared by simply anchoring Co3O4 and g‐C3N4 to improve the catalytic performance of g‐C3N4. The results show that the introduction of Co3O4 not only improves the electron utilization of g‐C3N4 but forms a charge transfer bridge channel (p‐n heterojunction) after contact between the two, which effectively promotes the rapid transfer of photoelectrons between the contact interfaces. Finally, when the amount of Co3O4 introduced is 15%, the amount of hydrogen produced in 5 hours can reach 0.163 mmol (3.26 mmol g−1 hour−1), which is 163 times that of pure g‐C3N4.
